Great location, cosy rooms, just 1 more toilet on the top floor would made it perfect :-) ... we really enjoyed the stay in Grettir, since it was very close to everywhere. We were group of 9 friends so we could handle just 1 wc/shower with some planning, but 2 wc/showers (1 for each floor) would definitely made it perfect.... More

Grettir guesthouse lies right in the middle of Reykjavik's "runtur", between Laugavegur and Grettisgata. You pass a graffiti-covered, shabby-looking passage to enter the guesthouse. Fun for young party-seekers, not family-friendly, though. The guesthouse itself has nice rooms with private basins and shared facilities. Breakfast is included, but very sparse. The apartment in the basement is a bit small and lacking... More

In the city center. The bed was very confortable. Good place to see Reikiavik. The last day we could stay more time in our room. The breakfast is self-service There is only one bathroom for 5 bedrooms.

The best thing of this guesthouse was to good location. Very central in town. Before our arrival, we got a mail with all the instructions. We haven't seen the host during our stay. We arrived before incheck time, so the room wasn't cleaned yet, which is perfectly normal, but still we could leave our lugage in the room. When we... More

This is a cosy guesthouse for people who ar looking for an authentic Reykjavik guesthouse- not for people looking for a standard western hotel. The rooms are small and there's just one bathroom and toilet to share between the six rooms. Breakfast is provided and it's very much a self-catering affair. You will meet your fellow travellers at breakfast so... More

We liked this place because of the price and location. It is in the heart of Reykjavik and we were able to park for free and walk to all of the sights. You will share the bathroom--we never waited though. The breakfast was also basic but good. The instructions for getting the key and getting there were good.

Great location. Clean studio with fully equipped kitchen. Big bathroom. They also provide transfer to the airport and possibility to store luggage, which in our case (5 people with lots of luggage) was big plus, since we had flight at the night time.

Just off the Main Street & so within a short stroll of everything including airport buses. If driving there is a small pay car park out back but tricky to find because of one way street system. The guesthouse itself is quite tiny & simple but kitchen & room were adequate. Access is by codes & key info provided to... More

Very good central location, in a bit of a building site at the moment but it did not disrupt the stay. Clean bathroom, kitchen well equipped OK for short stay, no space to put clothes away for longer stays.

Run-down, stained bedspread and decorative pillows, dingy walls, inaccessible management. The owner will say that the place wasn't clean because I got there earlier than I was supposed to, but what I saw wasn't just daily use. There was grime and stains that were clearly products of long-term neglect. Poor lighting, moldy smell--need I go on? I had to leave... More
