This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled in the heart of Reykjavik, Hotel Borg by Keahotels garners acclaim for its impeccable cleanliness and art deco elegance, offering travelers spotless rooms and a charming atmosphere. Despite some noise complaints, many guests laud the hotel's central location, steps away from vibrant attractions, though they advise that serenity can be found in the higher floor accommodations. The staff's outstanding service frequently receives praise, although the value proposition is occasionally questioned due to the pricey extras. Visitors also enjoy the hotel's amenities, even if the spa falls short of expectations for some.

We started here in our Iceland adventure. We would go through the southern coast. I will tell you more about our trip and where we went. In the meantime; we stayed at Hotel Borg three times, once we arrived and two nights when we left. We had to stay there, because the Blue Lagoon was closed. The Blue Lagoon was closed because there was lava across the road and they closed the Blue Lagoon. After several days they opened it again. I don't believe I told you about the Hotel Borg. There's a little square right in front of the Hotel Borg and right side that's the Parliament. They had a breakfast to end all breakfasts. Now the room. The room was clean, and the water pressue was great and as for the bed, I slept all the though the night. That's something I don't do a lot of.

This gorgeous, historic,Art Deco Hotel is a gem in Reykjavik. It is a quiet relaxed classy Hotel is in a fantastic, handy location to the main tourist centre . 5 mins if you are fast walker like me . 10 mins tops ,literally around the corner to everything. It is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything is pristine, shiny and spotless. *The staff should be applauded for their hard work in this regard * Housekeeping are so friendly too . The beds are sooooo comfortable I slept like a log . The shower is AMAZING .Best I've ever used and stayed in 100s of hotels . Molten Brown toiletries 🤩 (I didn't have breakfast ) You wouldn't think it's in the tourist centre as its quiet ! The staff are friendly ,welcoming, kind, calm ,and efficient. Special thanks to Julia who was so kind and sweet. As a lone female traveller I felt very safe in this hotel . You get an actual key too not the zappy kind . In summary : *Good for lone travellers *Clean & comfortable *Safe and quiet *Good tv Uk channels *Fantastic Shower . *Perfect location *coffee machine & Mini bar *Proper hair dryer. * PERFECT LOCATION . * Bus stop for airport literally around the corner @ Bus stop 3 SUPER EASY do don't panic! * Small Supermarket around the corner . My only criticism is there's no kettle. Something Irish / UK travellers would appreciate. I will return to this Hotel for my next trip in October as its in a great spot handy to everything. Bravo !

Very disappointed with this hotel for how much it cost. £880 for 3 nights not including breakfast or spa, all extra. Poor night's sleep on the 2nd night due to bar next door playing loud music till around 1am. Paper thin walls. House keeping start work early and woke me up each day due to hearing them with there trolleies. Great location, helpful staff but will not be enough to make me return. Highly recommend Iceland, but unfortunately not this hotel.

The Hotel Borg exudes old world charm with all the modern amenities. I absolutely adored the Art Deco decor. Our room was very spacious with comfy beds and a beautiful view. The breakfast buffet was also scrumptious with pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, Skyr, breads, fresh fruit, pastries, Icelandic cheeses and meats. It is within walking distance of many sites and surrounded by many restaurants of different prices and style. Sadly, we did not have time to enjoy their spa. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The room was clean, bathroom was updated. The bed was comfortable. There was a bit of a strange odor in the room, but I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. My room was also very quiet but you do hear people coming back late at night from hunting for the Northern Lights. Breakfast in the morning was super convenient and tasty. The spa area was perfect for a small hotel and the gym was fully loaded. You cannot beat the location either. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Simon in particular was absolutely amazing in helping me problem solve after I missed my bus and already checked out. Literally would have been lost without him!

Very clean and extremely helpful front desk. Room was small but very clean. The breakfast was great. The location is in a great spot and in walking distance to a lot of shopping and restaurants. The lotion that the hotel supplies was not great though, so I would bring my own. I would highly recommend this hotel

We stayed here as a friend had recommended it. The location is fantastic, based downtown Reykjavik it’s so central for exploring the local area, and picking up buses for tours. There are fantastic restaurants all within walking distance. The actual hotel has an art deco feel, and touch of luxury. The Molton Brown toiletries, dressing gown & slippers all helped relaxing after a long day out on trips, proper hairdryer and a fridge all help too. We booked to have breakfast too, large variety & relaxing ambiance, fresh juices, smoothies & pastries all 💯 The spa in the basement was relaxing, we didn’t use the gym

A beautiful historical hotel with the best location in Reykjavik Had high expectations to the stay, but room was not really "deluxe" as booked. Low ceiling, way too warm and not possible to keep windows open due to lively crowds at the bars outside. But rest of hotel very nice and staff professional and friendly

Dear Johan, I want to thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are glad you enjoyed the service and location of our property . Being located in the heart of Reykjavik´s city center with it´s vibrant nightlife one can sometimes experience ambient city noise. This is more the exception than normal. We do recommend to our guests to contact us directly if there are any issues so that we can work on a solution. We look forward to seeing you again in the nearest future! The hotel has great character, good facilities and is in an excellent central location. The only complaint is that if you need to leave before 730 for a tour/excursion the breakfast is only partially set up. This is problematic when you do a long excursion as I was relying on a good hot breakfast to set me up for a long day. I’ve marked the service down for this reason.

What a lovely hotel, a very international hotel that delighted us with beautiful rooms and baths, incredible buffet breakfast that included cheese /meat plates, eggs and breakfast meats, yogurt bar and smoothies and yummy pastries! Service was perfect too. Very nice restaurant. The bathrooms were very relaxing and spoiled us with wonderful high end bath products and linens. Bed was so comfortable. We also enjoyed the historical aspect of the hotel and that they shared its story and historical items and photos with us. It made the hotel so very warm and welcoming. One thing, if you have difficulty getting in/out of a tall walled bath tub, be sure to ask for a room with walk in shower. They are happy to accommodate you.
