Needed an additional night to complete some business in Reykjavik and unfortunately the 1st class hotel I was in was oversold - as were about 95% of the hotels in Reykjavik on August 14th. Was referred to the Borgartun by a business colleague and was cautioned - "It's a bit of a step down from what you normally stay in".... More

We wanted cheap overnight accommodation, close to the main road network into/out of the city with free parking and within walking distance of centre. This fitted the bill perfectly. Pretty sure its been a 4 story office building with the top 2 floors converted into a guest house - with the other 2 floors still offices! Weird set up and... More

The best part of this guesthouse was the location as you could walk to most sites in Reykjavik. The building outside is not appealing, but the rooms were simple, bright and relatively clean. The staff was nice and helpful and the breakfast was the typical breakfast served in most guesthouses in Iceland (meat, cheeses, breads, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice).... More

We had three points when choosing the rooms in Iceland: breakfast included, free parking and ensuite bathroom. This place had all of them. Great location, free parking, only 20 minutes walking to the Harpa on the seeshore. In nice weather (we had sunshine) it is a real fun. The room was big enough, with basic amenities. You get what you... More

Looks are fairly deceptive here. We only used this as an overnight stopover, although we would have been content to stop for longer. It is basic, but clean. The staff were friendly & helpful. If you're after luxury, look elsewhere, but if you want low cost & good value it's excellent.

Basic but clean and comfortable guesthouse 20 mins walk from centre of Reykjavik. Good value for price.View of bay and distant snow-capped mountains from window. Helpful and friendly staff were waiting at 2am to check us into room- excellent Skybus service brought us from the airport to the door.

We stayed here for 5-6 days. And to be honest it is not enough to explore Iceland. The Bogartun is a comfortable guesthouse located behind Cabin hotel which has "cabin hotel" bus stop. This bus stop is basic for all the bus routes to/from Keflavik airport and pick up point for bus tours. It takes about 20 minutes by walk... More

Stayed as a solo traveler. The building looks a little dodgy from the street but the building is secure and I felt totally safe. The rooms are clean with, private bath, cable and Wi-Fi. Nothing fancy but comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you need anything. Breakfast spread was nice with breads, meats, cheeses, jams, cereal, yogurt,... More

We stayed here for 4 nights on an organised tour. The Bogartun is a basic guesthouse located about 10-15 minute walk away from the centre of Reykjavik. Its a nice walk to the centre along the harbour. The room itself is very basic, nothing fancy. Its fine to use as a base if you plan to travel around. The rooms... More

The hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown Reykjavik. (As in 2-3 minutes cab ride or a 20 minute walk) That said it is excellently priced, and has a reasonable breakfast. The rooms are minimalist but serve their purpose well. I had a reasonable stay there and no regrets whatsoever. A solid budget accommodations. Pretty quick and reasonable... More
