NUMBER OF ROOMS
Friendly welcome, clean, comfortable beds, nice rooms (it’s a student hostel, not a palace hotel, ok?), amazing common room: I felt like a student again. There’s free (good) coffee! Walking distance from the centre.
It is a relative cheaper option with good location (close to the University of Iceland, National Museum, "the Church". The staff are friendly and helpful. There's good music every morning in the lobby (a very good area to be) and the facilities are in very good shape.
Iceland is a really expensive country. This was one of the few reasonably priced accommodations we could find. For a hostel this is top notch: clean, comfortable, quiet etc. If you stay in a hotel you get your own shower and toilet, maybe a breakfast and perhaps a location near to the center of the city, but be prepared to pay a lot more money!
We stayed at the Student Hostel from 6/13/18- 6/17/18. This hostel is a great inexpensive option to visit Reykjavik. All the staff there are very friendly and helpful with any questions you have. The hostel is very clean, the rooms are spacious, there is a full kitchen and bathrooms on each floor, and there are two really comfy and cool common areas to use wifi and hang around. The hostel is located at the University of Reykjavik and is 15 minutes walking distance from downtown Reykjavik and has a bus stop right outside of the hostel. There is also a student restaurant and cafeteria if you are hungry. We will definitely use this hostel again and will recommend it to all our friends.
The facilities and the location of the student hostel is superb. The University of Iceland facilities and the National Museum is couple of minutes away. The Hostel Manager Valgerður Anna Einarsdóttir and her team is really cooperative. They guided us in many ways including suggestions for restaurants and souvenir shops. The kitchen has all the equipments required for an ideal living even with a family. We were given a well clean furnished room. The common spaces are very spacious and lively. Hope to visit the place again.
