I stayed here before and after my Laugavegur hike. The staff was friendly and let me check-in early after my redeye flight from the US. They also stored my suitcase during my hike. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The apartments are located on the main shopping street of Reykjavik near the edge of the core area. My only complaint was on my second stay my room faced Laugavegur, which became noisy as people walked back from the bars late in the morning. I asked for a quiet room away from Laugavegur on arrival, but they said they were fully booked and I had not put a note in my booking. Overall, I liked the apartments and location, but probably would not stay here again on weekend if the room faced Laugavegur.

They also had the nerve to send me one of those “rate your stay” emails. I never checked in, how do you not know this? I wasnt able to travel due to COVID19 restrictions. You refused to move my reservation to a later date. I will not be recommending or staying at your hotel upon my return to Iceland. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced.

... Because the looks are one out of two positive things I have to write about this hotel. 1: Looks nice 2: Great location But: -Selfservice check in- Cardmachine not working upon check-in. Had to call someone off property to get checked in. -The shower flooded the entire bathroom. -Lots of tea and coffee, but no spoons. -Horrible bed. Two single beds put together with a double sheet on top, I believe? Douvet not big enough for two people. 1.80 bed and a 1.20 sized douvet? We paid around 1050NOK. You’ll find something better at that price.

41 A Townhouse Hotel asked me to write a review: The central located studio apartment was nice: spacey and comfortable with a fine kitchenette fully equipped. We stayed five nights, had clean towels almost every day, but no cleaning a part from emptying the garbage. Hence the room needed a good cleaning, when we left, but remembering how it looked upon arrival, we doubt that. The windows don't open, and there's no air con. The self check in took nearly half an hour due to technical issues, and other guests had same bad experience - perhaps the hotel needs to make another arrangement with this, as it clearly was a problem for almost everyone. We liked the place and the location.

The location was excellent, in the middle of the city with close proximity to all the sights. Self check in, and helpful staff when the system wasn't cooperating. The room was very nice. A studio apartment fully equipped with everything we needed. The cleaning staff came in and made the bed and changed the towels everyday, but unfortunately they didn't clean the room. As a result, it was a bit dusty, both when we arrived and during our stay.
