Got hit with hidden charges hard. Was almost twice what was agreed on booking.com Lady was very nice but overcharged the crap out of us. Bedding cost which was not explained to us; we had sleeping bag we could've used. Parking spot fee & had no breakfast or kitchen DO NOT RECOMMEND

The location was great, rooms where small but fine for a couple nights. I did not like the staff that much, We had to let them know what time we would arrive, we said between 14.00-16.00 and arrive around 14.30. they where just about to leave to go swimming? which I thought was weird. Also when we wanted to rent...

No kitchen, no service, we were billed for more than we agreed. You cant leave your luggage before and after your stay even not for a few hours. Wifi is paid but btw the password is "iloveiceland" . Result: I dont recommend this hostel for anyone who dont want to spend just a night here.

Based on other very negative reviews I had read, I was already wary of this hostel. As soon as I arrived the price I thought I was paying had gone up due to a 10% credit card charge. Luckily I didn't need to purchase linen or towels as I had my own. The rooms are very basic, hygienic enough. Overall...

An adequate hostel, very basic, limited facilities. In a good location about 10 minute walk into the heart of the city. 500 ISK for internet when the free one didn't work... early check-in was €10 each...

We checked in and left after an hour.. It's a shame the bottle of tequila in reception is empty. Really. Ended up being charged 10% more than we were quoted on the site. It's dreadful, I can't even be witty about this place. Tiny dirty bathrooms, awful shower, max box 'room' and nowhere to dry our soaked clothing. We have...

Vickingur is an passable guesthouse and the cheapest we found at Reykjavik. It is close to the center and around 20-30 minutes walking to the bus station. We were not overcharged by the WIFI or the city fee, and we paid through the booking website so we did not have the problems that other travelers report. Rooms are simple but...

Good points: close to city centre in a quiet neighbourhood Points for improvement: Initially looked reasonably priced but when adding all the additional basically hidden costs listed in the lobby of the guest house (photos) this becomes an expensive place to stay for the quality the traveller gets. The room was very small. One shower facility shared between the two...

Having only read the reviews after I had come home, I definitely agree with many people here when they say this place is to be warned about. It's only saving grace was it's proximity to the city centre and the rooms, while being basic, were warm and fairly clean with a locking door. The vibe in the guesthouse was definitely...

Pros: -The location is walkable from city center, so very convenient. -The bedding and room is clean. -Bathroom was clean first day :) Cons: -You have to pay extra for the wifi password. That is not mentioned in any of the booking sites. -There is no telephone facility in the house. Literally there is no help from reception. -The wash...
