We spend one night here leading up to a cruise. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The rooms were unique, beautiful and quite comfortable. Spacious bathrooms with great showers. We enjoyed a free "taste of Iceland" with some local foods and drinks and then stayed for dinner. The food was delicious. We came back in the morning for the included breakfast and that was a real treat. Many scrumptious choices, more friendly staff- just an excellent experience overall! This hotel is located very close to some wonderful shops and many sights in the city.
What a nice surprise to see a new hotel not designed like most others. The staff was particularly helpful especially providing us with a breakfast to go at a very early hour before the kitchen opened. Our room was extremely nice and the bathroom as large as some other rooms we had stayed at! Being upgraded to a suite certainly didn't hurt!
An eclectic mix of accommodation in central Reykjavik. High quality throughout, from reception to room and restaurant. Would return immediately, if I could afford it, especially for the amazing food options and comfortable furnishings.
Management is awful, with no prior warning upon arrival, we were informed that we had been rebooked at a lesser/further hotel with no other options, reimbursement or advanced notice and no actual reason why. Would not risk booking here as we learned this had happened to many others as well, particularly as no advance notice was given better to choose hotels with better customer service.
Very comfortable accommodation for a short, overnight stay. Comfortable bed, great shower, nice coffee-maker, walking distance to many restaurants, shops and airport transport. Well maintained and good value for a center city property.
Overall a very pleasant stay at canopy, friendly and service minded staff. We had a junior suite on the 5th floor, which was great. Superior location. Good and fresh breakfast . Restaurant average though. Out best recommendations
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location in central Reykjavik could not be better. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was well appointed and a nice size. Adjacent restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner. Absolutely no complaints about our stay and we definitely would recommend!
We stayed in a King Junior Suite. Our room was nice and we had a view of the water. The location is fantastic! I am not giving it five stars for two reasons. I believe it is way overpriced. They charge for a 5 star hotel but there isn't much service. There isn't a concierge so everything has to go through the front desk and while friendly, they were not helpful. When we checked-in, there was only one person working so he was also answering all the calls from guests as well. One of the days that the cleaners came, they literally just threw the comforter on top, did not bother to fix the sheets and put the sofa pillows on top of the bed. It was bizarre. While the Canopy is nice, you are paying a lot for very little service. We ended up renting an Airbnb for the second leg of our trip in Reykjavik, located one block away and it was much nicer and larger for a 1/4 of the cost.…
Cannot beat the location, in the middle of city center, everything was within a 10 min walk. There are multiple bus stations within 5 mins of the hotel. Great breakfast to start the day and the staff could not be more helpful! Highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed here for a few nights in June on our second trip to Iceland. The location was great and in walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. We had a lovely room that had a small terrace, so that really helped with no A/C. Most of the folks at the front desk were awesome and very helpful, but there was one person who was not helpful at all. Good parking right across from the hotel too. Breakfast was okay.
