We booked a private room and were happily surprised to see that it included a private bathroom. The beds were good, bathroom adequate, desks much better than in usual hotels as they must serve the students all year. The breakfast buffet was very good, a lot of choice and the staff very helpful.

We spent 16 nights touring 2200 miles of Iceland, all in hotels with private baths and included breakfasts. Immediately we learned that the wifi was weak and could only be accessed in the lobby. No apologies or compensation. The room was clean and sparse. It was fine and about average for our trip with nights in more remote locations. We... More

We recently stayed here for two nights. Yes, as others have mentioned,it's fairly basic. However, the room was clean. Breakfast was better than most other hotels offered on our trip. Elizabeth on reception was delightful and couldn't have been more helpful. She answered so many of our questions with enthusiasm. We learnt so much from her. We did a trip... More

If you're looking for three to five star, this isn't your place. This was my first time with Edda, and given where I've stayed before, I'm perfectly happy. Clean sheets, clean room, a sink in my room with a closet and shelves, which is more than I can say for 80% of the places I stay in many countries. Bathroom... More

We had a difficult time finding lodging for three nights in the area, even booking seven months in advance (take note!). We knew the lodging here would be basic. But in reality, it was just a little too dreary and odd for us. The rooms are dorm rooms. Not the end of the world and the beds were comfortable. But... More

This is a dormitory. We had a nice spacious room with a bathroom and shower. We slept well and thought the breakfast was about what you get everywhere in Iceland. Isafjordur is not a very big town, so it is easy to get everywhere on foot. Some have mentioned lugging their things up a huge flight of stairs. You can... More

Very straight forward hotel not unlike other Edda Hotels. Very spartan but convenient and comfortable. We had a double and a single bed...no issues. Bathroom was nice. Breakfast was typical Icelandic breakfast and heavy in carbs but still served us well. Wifi only works in the commons area which is a little inconvenient but didn't hamper our stay at all.... More

Decent hotel option for staying in Isafjordur only if other hotels are booked. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are small since they are used as dorm rooms for boarding school students during the rest of the year. However, the rooms are clean, but WiFi is only available in the lounge/lobby area. The location of... More

Hotel Edda is a great chioce for a hotel in the westfjords. A short walk from Isafjordur City Centre with a few shops, restaurants and bakeries. The breakfast was decent with several choices of bread, cereal and fruit. We were in a room with shared bathrooms, where both the shower and the toilets of the women's bathroom were clean and... I know that Edda hotels are hotels only in the summer and boarding school other year. As the prices of Edda hotels are the usual hotel prices, I think, however, that one must be able to make certain demands of the standard. Edda Hotel Isafjordur not meet my pretty reasonable requirements. We chose a double room with private bath and... More
