We booked this hotel back in February through Booking.com and paid in full at the time of booking. Two weeks before we were due to travel we received an email from Booking.com to say the Eldey could no longer accommodate us, as they had overbooked! We were then faced with trying to find somewhere else, not an easy task so close to our departure, with most hotels already fully booked and those that weren't were either unsuitable or even by Icelandic standards horrendously expensive. Credit to Booking.com, they did refund our payment in full and very promptly too, however I would not recommend that anyone book this hotel, unless you enjoy the stress of trying to find another hotel just before you are due to travel. Give the Eldey Airport Hotel a miss! If I could, I would have awarded zero stars because of all the stress they have caused us.

I chose this hotel because I am a U.S.Navy Corpsmsn and wanted to get others here and it was shut down. This beautiful Hotel used to be military barracks. When you walk in you get so much more! I love the home feel it has and all of the staff members are very welcoming, helpful and inviting. I absolutely loved going to sauna room and enjoying the hot tub. The breakfast is absolutely amazing and you can tell the stuff put such great love and detail in the breakfast presentation. As a Veteran it is so nice to look around and see how an area of service and sacrifice has now been turned into a comfy, warm and inviting hotel! If you are coming to Keflavik, you have to stay here! You will be glad you did!

We were on a 5am wake up and needed a place close by for the early morning img start. Booked a quad room with young family. Unfortunately we had first room by the hot tub so noise went on until 10pm. Then at 12.30am a large bunch of school tour arrived and we’re so so loud for an hour. In the end I had to go out after the kids were woken up, hotel staff did nothing wasn’t until I bumped into their tour guide and teacher to tell them it was totally unacceptable. And it got finally sorted. The quad room was ok, bathroom basic. Unfortunately due to this I wouldn’t recommend staying here with a family and kids.

It is not too much these days to expect a nightstand by each side of the bed, with a light and a place to plug in your devices, but they were nowhere to be found. We had to plug our phones in across the room and get out of bed to turn the lights on or off. The TV had a very small screen and no instructions. We could not figure out how to use it and gave up. The first time we stayed there we contacted them before we arrived and asked if we could check in early. They said OK, but it would cost an extra 40 euros. We agreed, although it was annoying as many other hotels, if the room is available, let you do it for free. So they added 40 euros to the bill, but when we arrived they charged us an extra 40 euros. If I had not noticed, we (and our friends who were also overcharged) would have not gotten a refund, which I had to request. We stayed there again, and I paid ahead of time through booking.com. But when we got there they charged us again, and we did not notice until looking at the credit card bill a month later. Again they did a refund, but we should have not had to check. Stay somewhere else.

I had to spend three nights in this hotel after having interrupted my vacation, because I broke my leg in East Iceland. The staff were extremely serviceminded trying to help me out in many different ways. The manager Sigrun was very comprehensive and offered me all comforts in this unfortunate situation. Also the two front desk collaborators Karolina and Joanna were of great help to me and my family. The room was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was amazing with a wide choice of bread, buns, cakes, fruits and drinks. The position of the hotel is convenient if you need to be close to Keflavik Airport, the Blue Lagoon and the vulcanic area of the peninsula.

My second stay at this hotel near Keflavík Airport. A great place for the price and just 15 minutes from the airport entrance.  The hotel is on an old air force base on the back side of the KEF airport.  It features a couple of really nice common spaces to relax, especially after a weeks long campervan trip. It is very much a converted military barracks but don't let that discourage you. It's actually nice.   The rooms are basic but provide a nice shower/tub and large closet. Adjustable heaters in the bathroom and main room.  The staff is always great. Since my flight was super early they packed a breakfast to go for my 4am departure: How top notch is that? The hotel does offer breakfast and small snacks for sale. There are two restaurants in walking distance if you want lunch or dinner that are good.

This hotel is a really good one. The personal is very caring and nice, especially Alejandra. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The location is really good as it is close to the airport, and it is open all night. I came at 2AM and I had no problem. I felt very comfortable while I was in here. I would definately recommend it.

From the outside this looks like an American traditional motel. There is a large car park out front. The location is quiet yet close to a petrol station that stocks food and drink and there is a very good fish and chips place close buy. This is a fine "basecamp' for exploring the west and south sides of the island. The rooms and bathroom and clean, quiet and comfortable. It's a long drive to Vìk however. We never ate the breakfast nor did we experience the happy hour, hot tub or sauna.
