Detailed Reviews
Situated in an excellent location, this guesthouse comprises various bungalows. I stayed at a bungalow with four single bedrooms. Everything was clean and new but my tiny room didn't even have a waste paper-basket or shutters (you need them in the summer, when the sun hardly goes down) and the central living area had a fridge, a table, but no plates or cuttlery. Just four glasses. The most disappointing feature, though, was that I had to share a bathroom with three other rooms. Not ideal. Breakfast in the main lounge is sufficient but unimaginative. A place suited for the masses but not if you are looking for charm and comfort. The staff are polite and efficient.

Nice and clean double room with bath and toilet.
WiFi excellent.
Missing an electric Kettler at the room.
The first evening we vent for dinner at the restaurant.
Big joke - had lamb and trout.
It came as one side of a small trout, accompanied by a tecup size portion of mashed potatoes and 6 thin slices of cocumber.
The lamb was no better an both portions prised around 3900isk
We had to order desert to get a full stomach.
Next day we ate in Husavik much cheaper and much better.

Husavik was booked out so we had to look further, there are a lot of places like this. The detached houses/cottages/duplesex are nice becaus eyou can park right outside of them.
They are fairly spacious - but not incredibly comfortable
You can have dinner on site, its not amazing, but its pretty good, and very convenient.
You can also pack a lunch to take with you - this is extremely convenient!

We have booked 3 nights at this Guesthouse, but at the arrival, first we were not satisfied at all with the food at the restaurant. The fish was frozen, and not fresh at all. The meal in general was really poor and for a high price for that quality.
Then, we came into our room, and noticed a very strong smell of paint, and wood, and glue. Definitely, the rooms have been renovated, and because of this it was very uncomfortable to breath in there. Although the rooms are renovated and look like pretty modern, we couldn't stay because of the smell. The hotel staff were kind and offered to us another room, but as the whole Guesthouse have been renovated, the smell was everywhere, We had to cancel our booking. We are still waiting for the payback of the Booking.com fee from the hotel, which was 10% of the whole stay, that we had to pay due to the reservation through Booking.com.

We called the same evening, coming from the East coast of Iceland, and asked if we could book room so late. We asked as well if we could bring our own coton de tuliear dog ( a hypo allergenic dog ) with us to the room. We got a really nice clean and well equipped room, for the best price we had over our journey across the country and we could park the car right in front of the room. This was perfect choice for this evening and we where only 20 minutes drive from Husavik witch was the plan the next day. We where thankful and can only recommend this place on our part.

Small beds, small rooms, no or expensive amenities.
Not even tea/coffee in the room like other hotels. If you book for 2 people they cram you into a small double bed even if you ask for separate beds when booking. The standard in most of Iceland is 2 single beds which are the size of a king-size when together, but the rooms here are tiny and that probably won’t fit. Rooms have windows looking into other cabins rooms. Walls are thin. Poor value for the cost as compared to similarly priced options.

Small cottages spread over a large area. Rooms as well as bathroom could have been easily made larger & more comfortable. No electric kettle, tea / coffee provision in the room. Neither a microwave. For a cup of coffee you need to walk to the main reception / dining area, which depending on the cottage you're staying could over 100M walk

We were accommodated in a small white single house. Coffee/tea making facilities are available in this room.
The 3-course menu was very good. The pancakes for dessert have rounded it off nicely. Breakfast was slightly above average for this type of accommodation.
In the common room you can comfortably enjoy an aperitif or study guidebooks.
Note: do not feed the owner's fat dog :-)

Very good Icelandic guesthouse, service and excellent flexibility and help to navigate locally. English speaking and with a good Icelandic network. During our stay we went whale watching with a whale watching company. Unfortunately, we had an accident during whale watching, but the assistance from the guesthouse employees and management was great.

Quiet place to spend a night. We booked two rooms and they put us in adjoining rooms inside one of the cabins. Large room and comfortable bed. It is in a place far from everything. Coffee and hot tea in the reception area, not in the room.
