Beautiful hotel, excellent service. Staff is excellent, well prepared and willing to help in any way they can. Perfect place to see the Aurora or “Northern Lights”, don’t worry, go to front desk and ask them to wake you up if the Aurora shows up.

Hotel's Favorite
The Hotel Husafell is a beautifully-designed, fully sustainable hotel sensitive to its spectacularly scenic surroundings near the Langjokull glacier. Its rooms are nicely appointed and the restaurant is wonderful, with delicious food and an attentive, engaging staff. We want particularly to commend our hosts/servers, Gabriela from Austria and Natalia from Poland, who made our dinners memorable and helped me celebrate my 70th birthday in style! We will definitely be back.

This hotel has a great experience until you arrive. It is an ok and functional hotel. But it is not luxury. Some great build up to the trip with email communications but once you arrive the level of disinterest is a weird counterpoint. I do recommend the cave trip it was very cool. Very knowledgable guides and just amazing experience. Wrap up well! I have seen a lot of compliments on the food. I cannot understand why it is seen so positively. You are basically forced to choose their interpretation of fine dining as they have no range or alternatives. It was not good. The chef is clearly playing to an audience of one. And I am pretty sure the 1980’s want their sauce flooded steak back. The picture is the very badly done vegetarian option. Shockingly bad. ( full disclosure they took it off the bill) After the meal of one night we went elsewhere for dinner. We asked the hotel to book and eventually they agreed. When we went to the restaurant they had not called! Overall, one night here is probably the most I would recommend and be prepared to drive a long way for food because you should avoid the restaurant!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Husafel. The rooms were modern and spacious. The hotel staff were helpful when planning activities near the hotel and with any request we had. My one issue is that while they provide shampoo, soap and conditioner there is no hand lotion. As part of our stay at Hotel Husafell we had the dinner dining package as well. The three nights we were there Natalia was our waitress. She provided excellent service and a personal touch despite being extremely busy. The food was wonderful as well. Fresh seasonal ingredients were incorporated to every dish. When we had a dietary request the kitchen accommodated it no problem. If you dine there try to snag a window seat. If you’re in the area be sure to eat here.

What a gem of a Hotel in perfect settings, with activities to satisfy most outdoor people, The food is of a high class. The beds are comfy to give you a relaxing nights sleep and given the right conditions you can be alerted to a show of the northern lights. Staff are polite friendly and helpful. While being out of the way and a 2 hour drive from the airport there are plenty of sights to keep you gasping. Make sure you pack your walking boots
