Enjoy the amazing views of Vatnajökull Glacier in your own private, wooden cabin. All cabins have one room with sleeps for up to 4 guests, including a kitchenette, a private bathroom and free WI-FI access. Guests can bring their own food and cook simple meals or visit several nice restaurants offering regional dishes. We are conveniently located by the ring road no. 1, 30 km west of the fishing town Höfn and 50 km east of the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. We provide insider tips on beautiful, but less crowded hiking trails as well as on other recreational activities in the area, including glacier hiking, snowmobile and jeep tours, boat or kayaking tours on glacier lagoons and bathing in hot tubs with geothermal water. We look forward to welcoming you!

Me and my partner was staying in lambhus for 4 nights and we had a really nice time. We drove from reykjavik and aling the way we saw horses, lamb, black beach and glacier. The host of lambhus was very friendly and let us use the grill yo bbq and also there was a pool table we could use. The house we stayed in was nice and cozy with a kitchen, shower and table we were playing zatcy at night. The bed was also good and we slept very well. For us it was the perfect place to have our get away holiday and i highly recommend this place as a must visit if you are in iceland. It was peaceful and quiet, just the way we wanted it.

Lambhús Cabins is a family-run operation by the couple Steinvör and Gunnar. We booked 3 cabins here for 6 people for 3 nights.

The cabins are charming, cosy, and comfortable, providing an authentic experience of the Icelandic countryside. They are set on the farm Lambleikstaðir just off the Ring Road. All the cabins have a direct view of 2 or more tongues of the might Vatnajökull glacier from their windows, a most sublime sight when you wake up in the morning. This is an ideal location as it provides easy access to the natural attractions around Jökulsárlón to the West and Höfn to the East.

The hosts were warm and friendly. Gunnar went out of his way to make sure that his horses were accessible to members of my family who were visiting from India.

I have one suggestion for improvement: I presume most of the guests here are one-nighters. Since the rooms are serviced only after checkout, the bathrooms can get a little worn as a multiple-day stay progresses. Servicing after 2 days would solve the issue.

All in all: a fantastic place!

We absolutely loved the cabins! The view was magnificent, we saw 2 glaciers from the sofa. For two persons the cabin is great. The bd was good and most of all one of the few places where we could really make our room dark. We stayed there for two nights and would not hesitate a minute to go back and they were able to do some laundry for us (no ironing) which was very convenient.

These were much nicer and larger than I was expecting. We were in cabin 3 that had great views oof two glaciers from two different windows. The cabins are new. The bed is comfortable. The lower bunk was double sized and roomy enough for both of us. There is a refrigerator, two burner stove, kettle, mugs, coffee, and tea. There was even a small sofa in the room. Amazing location and views. Quiet and peaceful with the sounds of sheep and birds

We were in Cabin nr.2 for 4 nights. Really peaceful and silent, and everything u need
is included in the cabin. We enjoyed every second of it, and had an easy time finding something new to do every day in the area. More than worth it. Would love to come again.

Quite sincerely, I was apprehensive before reaching the lambhus...But directions were accurate and the place was exactly as described on the website. Small, but cozy and tidy.At times, we felt a bit cramped, and while the cabin experience is not a 4 star hotel, we were well protected from the elements ( furious unstoppable rain) and we had a great opportunity to talk to one another as a family, since there was only one room...We slept extremely well and felt beautifully isolated from the world. Check in and check out could not have been easier! Given the opportunity, we would gladly return any time!

We spent 2 nights here on our trek around the western portion of the ring road. Traveling as a family of 3 (2 adults and a child), the cabin was a perfect size for us. Had all of the necessary amenities (sink, fridge, dishes, silverware, private bath) that we needed and the scenery cannot be beaten. This is true of basically the whole country, but we loved waking up and seeing the glacier one direction, and a field w/ Icelandic horses playing in the other. Check-in/check-out were both simple. It's a good distance from Hofn (which we knew when we booked) but just be aware that it's a bit of a drive to the next 'town'. No problem for us since we were planning to be in the car most of the day, we just planned our excursions around being near Hofn at dinnertime. My wife LOVED our stay here. Even in the midst of the 50-60 mph winds that raged all during our first night, we slept comfortably in the cabin. Highly recommend for other similar travelers.

We stayed one night here in June 2014 in a 15m2 cottage. The host family was very helpful and friendly.

Cottage: So cozy and quaint! After we turned in the road to the cottage we sat and stared at the views for several minutes- gorgeous and so peaceful. Our cottage bathroom and sink were in our cabin and worked well. We had a kitchen sink, plates/cups/silverware/hot water heater, and a fridge. There was a table sitting in the corner with windows on each side- great place to sit with a cup of tea and look out at the mountains. We had two bunk beds, but they were big so we were able to both sleep on the bottom bunk, although a little snug :) Very nice little space!

Bathroom: The cottage had toilet and sink, but the shower was a couple buildings over. You are given a key to the shower and it is on the side of the "water closet" facing the mountains. it is a large area and you are able to put clothes/towels on one side so they don't get wet. The shower itself is on a nice tiled floor and the water pressure and temperature were perfect. We were both able to fit in the shower with plenty of room to spare. So while slightly annoying to walk outside to the shower, it was a spacious and very nice shower!

Parking: There is parking right outside your cabin.

Location: It is several km away from Hofn, but there are a couple local restaurants by the farm and it is very feasible to drive to town for the night/dinner and drive back. The location was fantastic as far as views and tranquility go. Also, the owners provide a laminated guide in the cabin with directions to local restaurants/attractions which was very helpful!

Noise: Pristine quiet! Just a few cow's moos and sheep's baahs. Also the windows are covered by light darkening shades that worked well.

Price: Our cabin was the 15m2 one for $132 a night which we thought was fabulous. But as we found to be true in Iceland- the costs of lodging/food are high in comparison to US prices so don't expect the same level of comfort/service matched dollar to dollar with lodging in the US.

Very nice folks at the check in. I was having a headache and the mom got me some painkillers from her own first aid kit.

Beautiful view of the glacier and horses coming really close by. Cabin was clean with cooking facilities. We could park right beside the cabin. Wind is very strong in the area and with the open windows, it's howling. Sun rises over the the glacier and we enjoyed the stay.

Only one drawback for small families staying there. The 30 mins hot water. We were told in advance so the bath was properly timed. Otherwise, it takes 4 hours to 'restock' the hot water. No Biggy for us since it's a stay for 2 adults.

Me and other 2 friends stayed here one night and was great. The location of the cabins are amazing and and they are fully equiped. I would definitelly go back there.

I also left behind a pair of shoes that the owner gently sent back to my country, which is very nice from their part.
