Se spent one night here on our Ring Road trip and found it comfortable. The room was a bit tight but the bed was comfortable. I think on a nice day, the views would be amazing but sadly it was quite dreary while we were there. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was typical of what we found in other hotels and just ok, but the dinner was very good. The Sheppard's pie was delicious!
We stayed in the yellow cottage (apartment) and would come back and stay a week if we could. It was so cozy, roomy, and comfortable with amazing views and the ocean out our window. Absolutely fell in love with this place and highly recommend!!
This was a good base of operations for exploring the Skaftafell area: glaciers to the west, seacoast to the south and east. Rooms were simple but comfortable, and we really appreciated the communal drying room after getting soaked in the park. Twin beds with duvet and pillow, very clean, small bathroom, quiet at night. Heat hard to regulate without opening the window. Coffee maker in the foyer. The hotel restaurant is about an 8-minute walk back towards the road. Good continental buffet in the morning with good coffee.
This is a great hotel in the middle of nowhere on the ring road. Rooms and bathroom were very large and clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Room was quiet and views were tranquil. The price was reasonable. Breakfast was average. Parking free. The restaurant was great and they have a wonderful museum worth an hour visit just off the dining room free for guests.. It is about the farm and one of Iceland's greatest authors.
Beautiful setting and close to Vatnajokull and all it has to offer. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, and had a view of the water. The building had a lobby area with books etc. to borrow. We ate 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts in the restaurant and found good variety, delicious and nicely presented food, and helpful staff. We enjoyed the short walk from our room to the restaurant for the views and the birding. Ask for a room with glacier view.
We stayed for two nights at this hotel. It was very convenient for Diamond beach, and also for our snow mobile tour. The room was quite basic, but compared to other hotels I thought it was a reasonable price for the location and facilities. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice, but it did get quite crowded, and I would have liked some food choices to be available in the other dining room, as this would have eased congestion. I think there was coffee, but no one was using it. We ate in the restaurant twice, and both meals were very good. We also looked around the museum, which was excellent.
We stayed in the cottage while traveling the ring road, and my parents had a room in the hotel. All accomodations were great, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious--for meat eaters, fish eaters, and vegans. Best of all, the hotel is run by the sweetest family. Views are great, and travel time to the sites was ideal. I'm ready to go back!!
Stayed for one night in the cabin/cottage, which is separate from the other rooms. Two bedrooms and one living/kitchen, stocked with the general things you need from a kitchen. It was very clean. However, we did not find the beds/linen to be particularly comfortable compared to other places we stayed on our Ring Road trip. Check-in happens in the restaurant. Don't drive all the way in to where the rooms are, if you're following Google Maps. Just stop basically as soon as you turn into the farm. There is signage indicating the reception/restaurant building. Breakfast was simple but had a number of Icelandic specialties. Dinner was the highlight of our stay. Prices are in line with Iceland pricing, but everything tasted fantastic! We had both the char and the lamb and dessert was apple cake. Everything was delicious and we spent the rest of our trip comparing the food with what we ate at Hali's. Location is a little bit far from everything, but if you're going around the entire Ring Road, I would recommend stopping here. I would definitely return just for the food alone.…
Excellent hotel near jokulsalion glacier & diamond beach . We loved staying here.the Property is beautiful w lots of animals in between the sea & mountains. Staff was very nice & dinner was delicious. Breakfast was included & great. We wish we had more time.
Lots of space in a clean room. Dinner at restaurant was great. Breakfast was simple but good enough. Staff were friendly. Good location for Glacier lagoon. We didn’t see the museum. Can’t quite drive to room but can get pretty close. My wife recalls there was only one pillow and she always wants two!
