We stayed here for one night due the hotel's proximity to Jokulsarlon lagoon. Be aware that there is no town nearby, no grocery stores or restaurants. You either need to come prepared with your own food or have to eat at the on-site restaurant which...More
We had a wonderful 2 night stay here. We had to check in very late at night and they set aside a key for us at the lobby desk which was very accomodating. The room had a gorgeous mountain view and the hotel is out...More

My boyfriend and I flew in to Reykjavik then drove straight out to this hotel, while making stops of course. The hotel was absolutely perfect. We did miss the area where you check in (first building on your right when you pull off the road)....More

We travelled to Hali Comfort Hotel in January this year - in a hired Toyota Landcruiser. We had no problems - weather was not that cold - so we didn't have to deal with snow or difficult conditions. But I don't think this would have been a problem - may have slowed things down a bit
if it was snowing. We loved having our own car (we were seven) - it allowed us to drive to the glacier lagoon when we wanted - we drove out at night to see the Northern Lights - it was amazing! It is a long drive to do in one day, particularly if you stop at one or two waterfalls along the way - but completely doable - leave Reykjavik early in the morning. We stayed two night at Hali and then one night at Vik on the way back up to Reykjavik. We booked an ice cave tour separately from an operator that picked us up at Hali Hotel.
