I will start with the pros of the property: The location is amazing and sits in front of a beautiful waterfall, there is plenty of parking on property and it is near a trail head if you want to do a quick hike, sheep roam the property and who doesn't like sheep?, and they offer wifi and breakfast. The cons: We had a room with a private bathroom and the room had a faint mold smell which we think was from an old shower curtain. An easy fix, but something we found a bit unsightly. The breakfast is free and beggars can't be choosers, but it is small and if you don't eat animal products (some in our group of 6 didn't), you will need to bring your own items to supplement it. Again, not a big deal but worth noting. The biggest issue we had was that we traveled with 6 adults (three couples) and we booked our rooms around the same time, but I somehow booked the only shared bathroom room. When we checked in, the front desk just gave me one of their available keys and it was to a private bathroom room. I just assumed we got an upgrade and didn't think twice. It turns out, though, that a different group member was put in the shared bathroom room and they had booked the private bathroom. Anyway, it all got figured out too late, but our friend got her money back for paying for the private bathroom that she didn't get. My biggest warning is to make sure you get the room you book (remember to check if you booked a while ago) and tell the front desk if you get the wrong room assignment. It doesn't seem they keep track on who booked what. Also, the couple with the shared bathroom said the bathroom was shared with 3-4 other rooms, so it can get busy trying to get in there. Overall I am not sure we would stay here again, but you can't beat the location!…
We stayed here for 1 night. When you just enter the reception, it looks very small but I have to say the following positive things: - Cosy bungalow - Nice view - Good beds / shower - Had a good diner - Good breakfast with eggs and good bread I would just recommend to give some bread when haring diner. Only people who ordered soup got bread.
We stayed one night only but we really enjoyed. We got a fantastic modern room with smart TV,my son was so happy... It is very close to yokullsarlon lagoon. The area is beautifull, there is a hiking trail just behind the guesthouse, there is a river just outside the rooms. It is a fantastic location. The owners are very kind and helpful. They have a menu for diner and they were ready to accomodate for vegetarian options. The breakfast was good with homemade pamcakes and jams. We really liked this place
There was a sheep right outside the door! Rooms were very private and absolutely spotless! Everything seemed brand new. We felt very taken-care-of. There was even a shoe horn in your room! Breakfast was good and fresh-felt like you were at a family member's house. The owners were very kind, even when we checked in late. The view outside the room was fantastic, all 360 degrees.
This is a family owned farm by Vatnajökull National Park, just off the Ring Road. The rooms are deceptively modern and new--wooden floors, modern bathrooms with heated towel racks, and floor to ceiling windows looking out over the sheep pasture. Wifi is free and speedy. Breakfast was an amazing assortment of delicious items, including smoked lamb, and lamb pate, among the more conventional things like yogurt, bread, jam, butter, juice, veggies, fruit, etc. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is half an hour away and Skálafellsjökull Glacier is 3 km from the guest house. On the property is a marked hiking trail leading to Skalafellsjokull. I was impressed by the quality of the lodgings, which seemed very new. The price was outstanding for what was offered. Dinner is offered on site.
