Our travel company got us a superior room (number 208) and it certainly had the WOW factor. A large room, with lounge area, big bed, very large wall to ceiling windows and a small balcony giving lovely views, a good size walk in shower room plus a large bath with a splendid window view too. The evening meal was excellent... More

In general I would prefer not to stay in hotel chains but in Iceland the accommodations are very scarce, particularly in the summer. Fosshotel seems to have made it a point to buy or build in places we would call "nowhere" but which are very strategically located. Rooms are always spare but clean. Anyone who goes to Iceland in the... More

The buffet breakfast is lovely. The room was very small with little room for luggage. The location is quiet and pretty. The entire place is immaculately clean. Has an elevator. Reservations required for peak hour dinner.

Stylish new hotel. Lovely public spaces including a lounge with glacier views. Rooms were quite nice. Comfy beds. However would have expected better blackout curtains for a brand new hotel - bring a sleep mask if you are light sensitive. Good breakfast. Close to Hofn so we ate there.

This hotel has just opened this year and is very nice but expensive. At over $300 per night and $60 for some entrees in their dining room, their prices belong in a building in the centre of a major city as far as I am concerned. Apart from their prices the only negative was the remains of a construction garbage... More

Our so-called deluxe room was tiny and perhaps it was architecturally interesting, but it was very difficult to use. Illustratively, there was a sink in the bedroom, presumably it was part of a bar arrangement since it had no soap. The hair dryer was in a well camouflaged chest next to that sink. There was a soap dispenser in the... More

This hotel is too large and impersonal for beautiful country setting. Room seemed basic and "cookie-cutter". Breakfast buffet had a good selection of options. Staff was friendly. We wish it had been more like a guest house.

Traveling with my wife and teenage daughter, sharing a triple room. The hotel is beautifully integrated in the landscape. From the lobby balcony you have a 180º view of 3 glaciers. Unfortunately we got a room facing back, never the less the room was great. Great bed, pillow and feather édredon, probably the best night sleep we had in all... More

Very comfortable and clean, in a modern scandi style. The bathroom is a wet-room/walk in shower type of affair, and floods a little bit. we had a restful sleep here. the best part was grabbing dinner and a drink on the restaurant terrace- wow - amazing views. Don't miss the waffle maker at breakfast, really nice touch.

All the other reviews are right in terms of the views. This hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere, like most of the places in Island, so I cannot give any points for that. We booked it because we were late and all the guesthouses were already fully booked. This hotel gives a nice feeling once you get in... More
