We always enjoy staying in this small hotel when in the area. Itā€™s so calm and relaxing with a lot of nice hiking trails around. Spa area is small, but we never actually saw more than 5-6 people inside at once, which is ok. Last time we took dinner, which was amazing, so basically we didnā€™t need to leave the hotel by car during the whole stay.
The only minus is very low, uncomfortable bed with sharp edges. If only this could be changed, everything would be perfect.

Lambergh hotel is a guest friendly place. Room was very clean, breakfast just amazing, receptionist helped every way possible and even gave us some ideas for an afternoon walk.
Thereā€™s a swimming pool area with an amazing view and plenty of space to rest around it and a cute sauna, regularly cleaned and stocked with refreshments.

Lambergh Hotel is smaller, almost butique. Best of all is the sauna area and nice pool. But both are small and more than 10 persons would be too crowded.
Standard room is nice enough, but somehow outdated. Bed is strangely low.
Staff is really nice and eager to please guest's wishes.
We enjoyed visit and we'll come again, after this corona virus madness is over.

We are a young family with small baby and we wanted to treat ourselves with something special for New Years. As our baby is very small we couldnt plan for any NY celebration, all we wanted was a nice, cosy hotel room to celebrate comfortably while our baby is sleeping. What better place to choose than the castle. Something special and different ...at least we thought so. We are still in the hotel. We arrived on 30th and our celebration was completly ruined!!!! Our mood as well. On booking.com we booked suite in the castle.Ā The picture on web of what we were booking was stunning. TheĀ price was not an issue. We wantedĀ the best. We booked it but we ended up in the ugliest room I could ever imagine. Even if sold as a 4* hotel room I would considere it very ugly but sold as a CASTLE SUITE it is absolutely unexeptable! There is not even one single elegant feature or detail in the room. Nothing that would give even the slightest idea of a castle. It is completely anonimous room with basic furniture, huge closet that is dividing the space in two and white walls. Nothing else. No courtains, paintings, colour...what do I know, Ā at least something to remind you that you are in a castle. Without exagerating, our own home is so much more beautiful that we are wondering what are we actually doing here and paying all this money for ( and being NY it isnt cheap).Ā

We feel cheated because picture on booking.com of the suite we booked and what we actually got ( called an apartment) can absolutely not be compared. It is a complete fraud.

We feel offended because of how we were treated when we said we can not accept this apartment and we want the suite we booked.

-Reception staff was first looking at us like we were crazy saying that this is the suite we booked. That it is the same.

- Then they were giving us some lame excuses when situation is very simple. They sold us the nice picture and gave us the ugliest room in the place

- Then we were shown nicer room but lower cathegory without any mentioning of a price reduction if we decided to switch.Ā

- Then we were lied to that we were actually upgraded in this ugly apartment and that they did us a favour because we requested for a bathtub.

- We were arogantly denied the possibility to speak with a manager and we were told it is how it is and thats it.

- At the end we were desperate and we just wanted to leave but were told we will still be charged for the amount of our whole stay.Ā

Dot. Not even one simple apologie. Nothing. We were treated, as guest of a 4* hotel, in an absolute shameful way.

And I am not only speaking as a disappointed guest but as a hospitality professional in 5 star luxury hotels as well.

ConclusionĀ

We are disappointed to be crossed over with the oldest trick in a book..."show them the nicest picture and then, when they are here and have no choice, dump them wherever".

I am dissapointed to see 4 star acting like 2 star hotel.Ā

Staff seems to have no idea what is guest service, and especially emphaty, admiting errors when they happen, handling guest complaints and recovering disappointed guest. And they dont even care. It is unexcusable that nobody from management called us, asked us how we were or oferred an apologie. Like always, guest with complaints are feared and purposly ignored just to be taken of their back and not dealt with.Ā

We are just being ignored.

That is NOT how 4 star chateau staff should treat their guest. Having a hair dryer and a minibar is not what gives you the right to have stars even if some authority says so. It should be your service, attention to details and treating guest with respect and care ESPECIALLY when things go wrong and your guest feel cheated.

We booked and paid for a suite in a castle and we got the ugliest most simple apartment and not even an apology. As we are still here we wonder what our bill will look like.

And lastly. We wanted to treat ourselves with dinners, wellness, saunas, massages and practically not even leave from here thinking what a fairytale this will be but now we refuse to do anyyhing but aleep here are spending all our money outside and dont want to use any other hotel facility.Ā

We are very very dissapointed and feel we shoud for sure never book through booking.com just based on a picture we see.

Lovely looking hotel inside and out, with some very modern touches that I would expect of hotels in 2017, but superficial looks cannot hide the reality of the broken bits that quickly lead to disappointment in staying here. That's not saying it was terrible overall, but there are lesser starred hotels and guest houses we have stayed in whilst in Slovenia that have provided better accommodation with more staff to look after guests every needs.

Overall I got the impression that it was someone's superficial attempt at a 4 star hotel without the knowledge of how to actually manage one, a bit like a fancy restaurant that has had a huge expensive facelift on the outside but the food and attentive service is a bit lacking.

So what was wrong?
No handbook or guide in the room so we had no idea about anything in the hotel, for example was the minibar free (turns out it was), was there room service (it's 4 star after all), how do we operate the safe, what is near, if there's a fire do we just jump off the balcony(?), and what are the opening hours of the pool (and having walked over there how the heck do we access it?? Through what appears to be a communal changing room??).

One of the 2 sliding shower doors was broken, no hinge on the top, so the fact the bottom had also come out was completely irrelevant. Any cleaner with eyes would have noticed that, reported it and the manager would have surely got it fixed rather than having one door hanging at an angle meaning it cannot close properly leading to a soaking wet floor? Failing that surely a cleaner would have noticed how hard it must be to get into the shower to clean it? After all I struggled to get in and out of it with one door 'flapping about'. The shower was very fancy though with lots of options to spray water from many angles, however surely there is nothing better than simply pouring water in ample volume from above!?

The shower was also surprisingly small. Set into a corner it looks rather swish and inviting, so long as you're rather slender and are happy to keep movement to a minimum.

Then there's the hidden light switch to be able to operate the lights whilst in bed, lucky we found it ...... practically under the bed ..... after we'd got out of bed to turn the lights off!

Oh, there was a lack of towels in the room, but the chap on reception did sort that, although there was no sign of anyone when we went down the first time and hung around for 5 minutes. Never mind I'm sure the lack of staff was not due to the evident lack of knowledge about how to manage/run a 4 star hotel and it was just a quiet day or staff were off sick?

The curtains are also not fixed in place at either end of the window so you have to skilfully pull them to the right width and place to try to get them to cover the full width of the window so that you're not woken by the light in the morning, but even at full stretch they're not wide enough meaning gaps are left at either side or in the middle, looks like an early morning wake up call is coming. When does it get light? 5am?? Perhaps there's been a study I've missed that says daylight doesn't wake you up, I hope so!?

The TV remote works ...... if you're close enough to the tv. Not really sure which channels are supposed to be in which language without watching every single one, the guide v the channels seems a little disorientated.

The bar/cafe area is dead and there was no sign of anyone to serve us for some time.

If only the air conditioning worked properly (or there were instructions, although having fiddled with all the controls I would still maintain the 'if only the air conditioning worked properly'). A temperature of 25 or 20 or less which then goes straight back to 25 isn't really putting you in control. Still, it had air conditioning which must = 4 star, don't worry about the working bit?!?

Then to breakfast......a lovely cold cooked breakfast (yummy!?!?), perhaps if this was a budget hotel where they couldn't afford electricity I would understand but 4 star it definitely isn't. There were no labels on anything so who knows what you're eating and if you had allergies......fingers crossed or get someone else to test it first. The fruit was soft so not exactly fresh, the hot water for tea and the coffee were luke warm, sausages were the worst I've had in Slovenia. All in all, it was the worst breakfast we've had.

Despite these gripes the beds were comfy, the pillows were good, the food was nice to taste (but don't forget the comments above) with the lack of snacks or light bites pleasingly compensated by being able to have just a starter, and the setting was very peaceful, relaxing and very picturesque (although any other reviews that describe what is no more than a pond (which needed topping up) as a lake really are stretching it).

So yes superficially it most definitely looks and feels like a 4 star hotel, but as a 4 star hotel this is not a good attempt, rate it as 2 or 3 (with a price to match) and I would probably class it as very good!

I'm not saying don't stay here, I'm just saying expect disappointment in many ways.

The hotel is nice from the outside the area also. The room was spacious BUT the bed was uncomfortable with wooden frame that makes it impossible to sit. Although clean you won't find even a pencil in the room. The shower is tiny. Breakfast is ok.
If there is some problem in the room on weekend there's nobody to fix it.....

We started our visit with a swim and a spa. The beds were comfortable, wifi fast, and the room had everything we needed. Really liked the design of the hotel. Restaurant was good too. I think the only downside is this hotel is quite isolated, no restaurants close by.

Recently, we have stayed for a week in Lambergh Chateau & Hotel (half-board). The facility is new, unique in its style and well situated: a beautiful countryside (with no problems of parking or congestion), about a 10-mimnute drive to the Bled lake. The room was round surrounded by class walls permitting a panoramic view of the beautiful neighborhood.
Nevertheless, we would like to point out a few problems that seriously spoiled our enjoyment:
The room did not contain a single drawer. The shower had no shelfs (for a soap/shampoo etc.) and the clothes cupboard had one sliding door ā€“ so that half of it remained always open.

The worse, however, was the food. It did not meet the quality expected from a 4-star hotel. When arriving to the meals relatively late (but, within the allocated times), most trays were empty (they were not refilled). At times when there were few guests, there was no buffet, the food was served without any choices to select from and the portions were very small. At all times there were no drinks on the table (including tape water). When the waiter asked: "what would you like to drink", the ordered drinks came with no receipt, we were not required to sign, and not even been asked to our "room number"). Upon checkout, we were surprised to find out that we were charged extra price for "orders from the Bar. We felt cheated for not being notified in advanced.

The hotel is modern and very nice; we stayed one night and enjoyed the spa (what is included in the price). Dinner was a small surprise as the chef prepared some extraordinary combinations, which were very good. Personnel is very friendly and helpful but the restaurant prices are quite high.
