Terrific hotel with good value for rooms without bath. Steep walk up the hill from the center of town. Near excellent city pool and wonderful botanical gardens. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff was very helpful. Hotel had lots of large tour groups.

We stayed in the new wing and the rooms were huge. Rooms had a small tv, desks and small kitchen area with sink, microwave and refrigerator. There were some basic kitchen items as well. Bathrooms were good sized but did not include a hair dryer. I asked at the front desk and they were happy to give me one. Hotel... More

Stayed two nights in this hotel in the new wing. The old wing has mostly shared bathrooms. In the new wing the odd numbered rooms face the fjord while the even numbered rooms face the old wing. The difference in price between the old and the new and a shared bath and a bath ensure is about $65.00. This hotel... More

Nice hotel. Our directions were not great, and the entrance can be tricky to find if you don't find the correct parking lot. Rooms are spacious. Ours included a refrigerator, and a shared balcony that overlooked the water. Short but hilly walk to the main pedestrian street in town, and the swimming center is across the street. Breakfast buffet was... More

Other reviews have stated the basic nature of this hotel. We stayed for two nights in the wing where rooms had private bathrooms and a small kitchenette, so not so spartan. However, this property is a student dorm that is used as a hotel during the Icelandic high tourist season, since there's not too much infrastructure to cover the demand... More

The hotel is pretty spartan -- our room seemed more like a dorm than a hotel. Our room had two single beds, a desk, a closet, and a sink, with a shared bathroom down the hall. We could hear other guests in the hall and in their rooms, so it was good that we brought earplugs! The hotel was perfectly... More

While the staff was really wonderful, the hotel rooms themselves were a bit wanting. It appears to be an old converted dorm complete with the small rooms and shared toilets. The beds were not the most comfortable and it was bit spread out. Moderately close to town and affordable. It was OK, and at some point in my life, I... More
