Stayed on night. Cozy place just outside of town. Farm stay. They leave keys at desk. Nice room. Clean and quiet. Did not eat dinner but breakfast was the standard and fine. They have a hot tub which was nice. Big hallway with a sitting area. No TV but good Wi-Fi. Staff that was working in kitchen was helpful since there was no one at front desk. Nice stay.
Our room is infested with flies before we even enter our room. The room is old and the shower drainage is bad. We got water flow out of the shower. Please be aware that the towels are really rough. By the way, there will be a beautiful dog that will greets you which is a nice thing. The room is spacious and the young ladies that work there are very nice. Really disappointed with the room but still in love with Iceland and its beauties.
The place is quaint and well kept. Basic room, clean and comfortable. The highlight of the stay was the 3 course dinner, starring Lamb. If you stay here, and you do not eat here, you are missing out on one of the best meals in Iceland.
10 minutes away from Akureyri you find this inn in the country side. The rooms are dated but large and clean enough. There is also a hot tub and you can have nice views of The Valley. Rooms have no TV or phone. Otherwise pretty average hotel. Reception is not always occupied, when we had a problem with the flush toilet we had to call them.
On our circuit of Iceland’s ring road, we stayed here for one night, as it was convenient for Akureyrie and an easy drive to Husavik. There’s no TV or coffee making facilities in the room but it’s great value for money and in a lovely rural spot with great views, only a ten minute drive into town. The following morning we had to be in Husavik by 9:15, so wanted to leave by 8:00. We were told that breakfast isn’t served until 8:00 but, because of our schedule, they were so helpful in preparing our breakfast a bit earlier so we could get away on time. It was no trouble for them. We hoped to dine at Fimbul (the restaurant on the same site), but were unable to as they had a large group booking. I’d definitely recommend this lovely place, if you’re exploring the country.
We stayed one night here-room was clean with plenty of space. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was we had an excursion in Husavik which was disappointing. My only frustration was that our room was right beside the outside smoking area. Thankfully we were not bothered by the smoke smell, but the people chatting outside did disturb us as we got to bed. It would be great if the owners could relocate the smoking area away from rooms. It is a pretty quick trip in to Akureyri if you need to go out for dinner while staying there. Area is quiet and very pretty.
We (family of three) stayed two nights, ate two trully excellent dinners, the best in many a trip. Breakast was also good. Exceptional warm hospitality, cozy place, hot tub, beautiful setting. Aurora and Matt (who I think took the place over just before Covid) are doing a good thing here.
If you are looking for cozy place, where you can enjoy yourself in beautiful countryside few kilometres from Akureyri, you should definitely stay in Lamb Inn and enjoy really nice and tastefull meal in Fimbul Café. We got the best service and we could’t be happier. I can say for me and my friends, this weekend was one of the best and we won’t stay anywhere else than here if we will have way to north. ❤️ Thank you so much for everything ❤️
It has a very high rating so you expect much... but only the view was 4 or 5 star. The rooms are made with a very low buget, we could hear every footstep and word that people say in the room above us. Kids couldnt sleep before 11pm because of the noise. Beds where also cheap so we didnt sleep well. Breakfast was ok but nothing special options where very limited. Restaurant was closed. Rating wasnt according our expirience, we had hotels with less rating that where much better in iceland.
We booked last minute during a time that many locations wouldn't let us book but Lamb Inn was incredibly accommodating. Johannes was an amazing host and made sure we felt comfortable and made this the best place we stayed our whole trip in Iceland! Because we were the only ones in the entire Inn we didn't expect them to fire up their kitchen we were already so thankful he let us stay there. But Johannes and his wife instead made us breakfast at their home (down the hill from the inn about a 1 minute walk) every morning we were there. I was amazed at the hospitality and we got to learn more about the country and experience local food including Skyr in an Icelandic home. We had fun visiting with his Sheep on our morning walks to his home and had company in their beautiful dog. The rooms were comfortable for my husband and I and the overall vibe and feel of the Inn was peaceful and comfortable. We even got to play the piano in the hallway! The Lamb Inn is also only 4 minutes away from the main city and very close to the slopes as well! Next time we are in Akureyri we will certainly come here. And recommend this place to all who want to have a wonderful experience!…
