A perfect place to stay during you visit to Akureyri och Husavik. Family run hotell, the stuff (young students) where charming and efficient with a good level of English. There is a restaurant with home made traditional Icelandic food. Try Plokkfiskur, Iceland National plate! The sights of the valley are great and you are only some minutes away from Akureyri or the Highway nr 1.
Very friendly people, comfortable beds and a lovely hot tub. Great location for a weekend getaway to explore the region. The leg of lamb was truly grandma style and the breakfast was great with all the authentic local products. We enjoyed a great and very relaxing stay at Lamb-Inn.
Location is very easy to reach, close to Akureyri. Great views of the valley and very quiet countryside stay. Breakfast had nice options with plenty of farm fresh options to try. Staff was friendly and helpful. Note: There are no televisions in the rooms, but internet connections were good.
We stayed here one night in June (on the summer solstice) - two adults and two college age boys. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, and bathroom was clean. The Inn is in a wonderful setting with great views. The manager was very helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant, but that night the Inn was doing a special popup dinner with the help of a visiting chef - it was delicious, but not the usual dinner fare, so I can't review that. Breakfast buffet was good and had the usual items with some great home-baked bread and lamb pate. Overall it felt more like being guests in someone's home than the usual guesthouse. We would have loved to stay more than one night. We plan on returning to north Iceland for a future vacation and if so we would stay here again!
This is our third visit to the Lamb inn! It is a wonderful guesthouse which is run by the loveliest family :) The guest house is a 10 minute drive from the city centre, and overlooks a wonderful valley and mountain. This is the perfect place to spot the northern lights, as you can see from the photo I took right outside. Every time we have stayed here we have seen the northern lights. The rooms are very clean and are cosy. I also found them very big and had en suites. There is a large lounge area above the restaurant where you can relax, with lovely books and information about the surrounding areas. There is also a hot tub that you can venture out to in the evenings to witness the northern lights! I would choose the lamb inn, because it is very affordable. It’s location is the best, it scenery is unmatched. The food is superb. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The staff are extremely accommodating and very friendly. The lamb inn is a stones throw away from town but without the high prices and with the northern lights right above you. A very wonderful stay in a wonderful guest house - thank you so much Karl and family, we hope to be back :) Isabelle (and Casey) …
