Lovely place. Great atmosphere with a lot of locals. Highly recommend "catch of the day" and happy hours (around 17h). Superb food. Like everywhere in Akureyri prices are very high but much more affordable comparing the other places around.

I have no words to describe the staff working at this hostel, all are really helpful, carrying and go the extra mile to make you happy. Also, this hostel and its bar is the coziest place in Akureyri, I love everything about it! The best place to chill, party, meet new people or make some new friends :) You’ll get a free welcome beer/coffee and can enjoy a free sauna!

So we’ll all know that things are expensive in Iceland but it’s worth it. This place is a very welcoming bar and do not be put off by ‘backpackers’ as it’s all ages. Good beer and nice wings, tacos, ribs and pretty much everything. Very reasonable and better quality than most places here. Lots of info, family, couples and any age friendly. We really liked it - three visits and food twice. No complaints and a top spot. If you are reading this then use the bridge across from the town and watch the amazing sunset from half way.

Our family came after a long drive, everyone was very hungry, we had burgers, the lamb kebab and vegietarian burgers... not at all good, okay when starving but not at all satisfying, or in anyway tasty. Veggie burger needs to be better! The patty was thin and flavourless, the sauce was not fitting to the toppings, the bread was bland and a little cold. It was uninspiring, it is cheeper but I would have rather spent 5 bucks more for better quality. Beefburger was beef mixed with pork...

The place is very nice and decorated with much love, I felt very welcome by just stepping in. All rooms, including the shared kitchen and the bathroom were well equipped and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful at any time and the food was really nice in this place too. The location is just perfect in the middle of Akurery town. I think the best recommendation for a place is, when locals hanging out there too. And the backpackers was always busy. A very good place to meet people from all over the world.
