The best place me and my friend could stay on our trip in iceland. The hot tub is really nice. The view is awesome. It is really close from the ton of akureyri. People working there are nice. Service is nice. The bed are really comfortable.

We LOVED this place! It is perfect for exploring Akeyuri and the surrounding areas. The decor is incredible - all upcycled materials. It was so clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing. They had a northern lights wake-up service - and yes, we did see the northern lights. The hot tub was awesome and the mountain and fjord views... More

Stayed here just one night. Room was small but comfortable, was traveling with a friend, were initially given a room with a single double bed, staff was kind enough to accommodate our preference for a room with 2 beds. Beds were comfortable, shared facilities were also clean with extra towels, didn't ever have to wait to use the bathroom. My... More

The best stay I had while visiting Iceland. The place is an old nursing home which still shows a little. Real friendly people working there, gave me some great sightseeing tips off the beaten track. Good coffee from a machine available 24/7 with homemade chocolate cake! Diverse breakfast with different cheeses. The hottub is great to end your day with... More

This beautiful property is located less than ten minutes from the city of Akureyri but feels like a rustic country retreat. The rooms and corridors have a bit of a student hostel vibe but the quirky, hipster element is strong and there are many lovely corners including a hot tub balcony, a reading lounge and beautiful grounds where you can... This guesthouse is in a great location just outside of Akureyri overlooking the fjord with snow capped mountains all around. The view from the lounge area is incredible. The view from the hot tub is even better, we were lucky to see a clear night sky and a full moon shining across the fjord whilst sat in the pool one... More

Wonderful place to stay in the country just north of Akureyri. Great hospitality! We saw cool northern lights while standing by the fjord. They also offer horseback trail rides and 4-wheeler tours. Awesome

This guesthouse is a bit outside of town with an amazing view of the fjord/harbor. I am not much of a guesthouse person but we still had a very nice stay. You stay in a small room that has a sink and then there is a shared, comfy common area and shared bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and the... More

Love love loved Skjaldarvik Guesthouse! The staff was so friendly, they had a fantastic dinner (that was reasonably priced for Iceland) and a glorious hot tub (that was huge, not one of those small awkward-to-share ones) We also did one of their Icelandic horse riding tours. I was anxious, since I've never been on a horse, but the 2 instructors... More
