Fantastic location just off old R1 looking out across to the mountains over the fjord and under 15 mins from Akureyri. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Good sized rooms with lots of storage, en suite and a TV…not really needed!! Odd numbered rooms 101-109 in the main building get the fabulous views. Comfortable beds, rooms clean and warm. Walk around the grounds down to the shore - so quiet you can hear the birds wing-beats!! - or up the hills behind. There is also a converted silo with panoramic views and plenty of relaxing space in a deceptively large hotel. There are exercise bikes, table tennis and a billiard room! But overall the quiet and the views make this an excellent place to stay. PS food is good too
We stayed here for 1 night and were not impressed. Which was good: friendly person at the reception, nice view, ok-ish room: clean but not very personal Things lacking: - Hotel was more like a ghost hotel! We were only with 4 people there that night (2 rooms) - Lacking personality - No dinner served - Breakfast poor! No warm eggs. Only boiled eggs coming out of the fridge so not fresh. It doesn’t mean that if you only have 4 people in your hotel, you cannot do an effort here I have to admit that during our stay in Iceland, this was the hotel we didn’t like at all and I think there is a reason we were only there with 4...
Very nice hotel, great location near lagune. Good size rooms, comfortable, smells like new. They serve us a buffet dinner, variate and deliciouse. Both lamb and fish were yummy. Atmosphere is very cozy, interesting deco made from old tools used in farm and houses.
The hotel is very well located on the waterfront, with a great view, and a lot of peace. The rooms are large, clean, the bed has good quality bedding, and you have a TV. The bathroom is also clean and comes with cosmetics and a hairdryer. The staff is young, very kind and cheerful. I served breakfast, which was rich, I found everything I wanted and especially good coffee. I recommend this hotel!
We stayed with my girlfriend by doing research in North Iceland. The room we got was tidy and clean. Breakfast was really good - tea, coffee, juice and so on. But the most important was how the owner welcome us! He was so friendly, we had discussion about Iceland history it was amazing.
