This was our first stop in our trip around the island. They have a great restaurant, where we could enjoy a mushroom soup, lamb and ice cream a la Glymur. The hot tubs also offer a great atmosphere with an astonishing view along the Hvalfjordur. The water is very hot, very great and you also have a place where you... More

We visited Hotel Glymur for 4 days following our wedding and stayed in one of the villas. The villa was appointed nicely and very comfortable. The solitude, privacy, and views were quite lovely. We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night and experienced okay lamb and very dry chicken. The wait staff served our soup before our wine even... More

The rooms are wonderfully laid out over a couple of levels to maximise the space. Very creative and provides a sitting ares as well as the bedroom floor. The food was excellent and the hot tubs perfectly located to be sheltered and get the best views.

We had a business retreat for 16 people from all over the world. The hotel staff did an excellent job to give us a productive and worry free experience. I want to come back soon for a personal vacation! The conference room is big and has a great view. The food was delicious and they were able to cater to... More

Location is great, not so far from Reykjavik. The room very large was on two floors with sofa and tv on the first floor and bed upstairs. We really enjoyed our time over there and for sure we can reccomend it.

After a four-hour hike two kilometers just up to the final hard climb to the top of Esja and down again to the parking area along Route 1, we drove to Hvalfjorder (Whale) Fjord, at 30 kilometers, the longest fjord in southwest Iceland. It was a long trip as we opted not to go by the tunnel under the fjord,... More

We drove the Ring Road counter-clockwise, so our stay at Glymur came near the end of our fabulous Iceland adventure, and MAN, did we need it by then. Although we had had a rollicking good time on the road, we were weary of our frantic schedule of moving every night and really needed this respite - both from the road,... More

We loved our villa! We found the restaurant to be good, not great. We had better meals while in Iceland but it was great having a kitchen and being able to make our own food with a big fridge. The view in this villa is beautiful... you are at the front with a beautiful view and none of the other... More

The hotel is located between mountains and a vast fjord; so the views are superb, beautiful and unique. All building is 1st class with beautiful indoor and outdoor layouts. The whole space is a gallery were we can spend hours exploring different kinds of art, reading a book in the full library, seeing old photography's and historical objects. The decor... More

Hotel Glymur is located on the north side of Whale Fjord, overlooking the water and mountains beyond. We stayed in one of their two bedroom villas over looking the Whale Fjord. We didn't really use the self catering facilities as the main hotel provides a great breakfast and superb dinner, the food is fabulous and beautifully presented. The main hotels... More
