Toilet is reasonably clean and there are multiple ones around the apartment so you almost never have to wait to use a toilet because only very few ppl will be sharing one. I stayed during Christmas and free gingerbread cookies and glogi is provided for free in the common area - very festive and very sweet. There are some basic free food and snacks provided too if you're low on budget -jam, honey, tea, yogurt, pasta and chocolate. There is no curfew and you'll be given the front door code alongside your keycard so you could get in the house any time you want. Checkout is also very simple, you only have to drop your keycard into the box. Location is pretty great too and it's manageable even if this is your first trip to Helsinki. It's like a 3 minutes walk from the closest metro station. Theres a bus station with buses going directly to city centre and central railway station. Multiple supermarkets are around and theres one that opens 24/7.…
Only had one night here as I was couch surfing the rest of the time but if I return to Helsinki (more like when - Helsinki is awesome!) then I’ll have more time here. Booked a room at 7pm, got sent details to self check in prior to 8pm and let myself in at 10pm. Beds were comfortable, the hostel nice, quiet and homely and the showers excellent. Next day I was able to leave my case at the hostel while I went to sight see and pick it up later that day. To top it off, Will, working there, was one the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure of having a conversation with. No complaints whatsoever and recommended.
Really nice and friendly hostel in Helsinki with the cheapest prices. The staff are very welcoming and help you with the check in. There are lockets in room and operated with the key card so not need to bring an additional padlock. The hostel is situated very close to a metro stop two stops from the Central railway and is a nice 30min walk from the Senator Square. They're are good facilities for a hostel including clean sheets and bedding, towels are extra charge and fully operational kitchen. WiFi is good and space for eating, working and socialising. A possibility to rent a sauna and free use of computer. Some minor points for improvement, beds are squeaky, so late arrivals or early risers may disturb others sleeping. They are the metal bunk beds, with rather thin mattresses. They are OK to sleep in for a few nights, but not if you do not feel uncomfortable and need to move around in the night! The lighting system could be updated with more sensor based lighting, especially in the bathroom and toilet areas. The air quality is ok, but some people with sensitive allergies may find the air circulation is not the best. All in all, for the No frills hostel in Helsinki, it is probably the best for the price…
Very nice Hostel, good for the price. About 10minutes by public bus from the central train station. Very helpful staff, corresponding by email as we had to check in very late and they left very detailed instructions. We booked the double room, kitchen was well stocked, the WiFi worked well and there was a guest computer as well, a sauna and roof terrace. Room and place was clean and tidy. Very useful hints and tips on where to go in Helsinki. Would recommend for a cheap, good place to stay for a couple of nights.
Location is good. The supermarket nearby opened 24 hours even on new year eve and 1st of Jan. Bus 615 goes to airport directly also runs 24 hours. Bar street nearby. Bars are not bad. The price for beer is cheaper than city center. Walk to city center is about 25 mins, take metro is only 5 mins. Staffs here are friendly and responsible. Room is clean. The common area like kitchen. It really depends on guests here. Some of them didn’t clean dishes on time. It looked messy sometimes. But I saw staff checked and cleaned the kitchen many times a day. The hostel is quite in general. It like it. Each bed has its own light and sockets. There also electronic locker, can be locked by room card.
Not a good location, metro saves it. Expensive for what it is but it’s Scandinavia I guess No real vibe, seemed more of a one night stop for locals/travellers Different intention to me I guess Serves a purpose, little else Would look elsewhere first if want to have some interaction with Others
I really enjoyed my stay! The building is easy to find, on the main street of Hämeentie. Metro, tram and bus stops are close, just couple hundred meters away. There are at least 4 supermarkets around. One supermarket opened for 24 hours including Saturday and Sunday! There is a Lidl 300m away. The decoration and overall atmosphere is cosy and warm. Rooms are generally clean. There's a guest fridge and well equipped kitchen so you can cook your own foods if you want to. The big backyard is good in summer time!
We visited this hostel for a night and must say that we were a little afraid to make any sound since the place is SO quiet. I think that that there was not a full house during our atay, but at least 10 whispering people were seen:) Two showers seemed to be enough during our stay, no lines at any time of day or night. Very easy to check in and out and general card system also worked perfectly. The kitchen has everything needed to cook a meal and also some free food left behind by fellow travellers. The beds were superb for sleeping, but pillows ridiculously large, like climbing a small mountain:D overall good location-price ratio for Helsinki.
We stayed here only one night but we have to say that we were positively surprised. It was one of the cheapest hostels in Helsinki (only like 20€ per night/person) and definitely a great choice. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen as well as the common room looked very nice and relaxing. The staff was also super friendly. The hostel is about a 30min from the city centre but it is worth it we believe. For what you get for that price. There is however, lots of restaurants around the hostel as well as a supermarket. The bus right in front of the hostel goes directly to the airport too. So overall, we totally recommend this place :)
Staff (the man especially) was very friendly. You get a card for the room and locker with the code for the door, works good. Kitchen is well equiped. They've got a nice terrace (also for smoking). Stayed in the 6 p mixed dorm. Small room with very squicky beds (I'm a good sleeper do didn't bother me).
