The good points first. Location is good. Short walk to the train station, and surrounded by restaurants and pubs. The hotel advertises "We are not a 5 star hotel". They are most definitely not. At a stretch 2 stars. The hotel is located on the 5th and 6th floors of an older building. Entrance to the building is appalling. The... More

We scarcely noticed the renovation work going on, the Finn is clean, quiet and very well located. Staff were welcoming and gave us all the info we needed about tram routes, restaurant locations. They even have their own free left luggage lockers for the day you leave. There is a breakfast discount at the next door Kiila restaurant (brilliant breakfast... More

Stayed in a 6th floor double room. Room was clean and comfortable. Loved the radiant heat in bathroom floors to help dry water and keep your feet toasty! Very nice location, plenty to eat and drink just steps outside the hotel entrance. I would stay here again.

Great location. Staff were very helpful. The restaurant next door was excellent (discounted price from the hotel). Sure, the room was small but it was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. I don't know where Nergis was but remember that you usually get what you pay for - you don't get a 5 star place for a 2... More

Dear NanookArmidale, Thank you for your review. I am happy to read that you were satisfied with your stay. About our lift, we agree that it is old fashioned. That kind of lifts are typical in Finland, and they fully comply with all Finnish laws and safety requirements. As all lifts in Finland, also our lift is annually inspected by... More

The room was fine and the beds were comfy but the pillows were small and the bathroom was tiny. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location was great. Close to the train station, lots of eateries and shopping.

The hotel is at levels 5 and 6 and requires use of a small, ancient, idiosyncratic lift. But once up there the rooms are modern and well furnished with good bathrooms. A lot of construction next door, so we couldnt stay in the room after 8.30. Storage area available including free, lockable lockers and free coffe/tee in the reception area.... More

The hotel is found on the 4th and 5th flooor, offering basic comfort at a reasonable price. Free tea/coffe is available in the lobby throughout the day/evening. Very central location in walkable distance from the central railway station. But plain beds, a bit rundown appearance, and a tiny-tiny bathroom. The reception closes atg around eight, after which rooms can be... More

The hotel itself is in an old and unrestored building in the centre of Helsinki. Rooms are quite small but recently restored. Overall the experience was good, perhaps the best part of it being that it was in the centre of Helsinki, and wasn't too expensive compared to others.

Hotel Finn was perfect for our stay in Helsinki. I'd read the reviews that it was in a good location and it was. It is surrounded by restaurants, bars and is opposite the main shopping store Stockmans. I was worried that surrounded by all this it would be noisy but it was lovely and quiet. We were on the 5th...
