The hotel is conveniently located on a small harbour near the center. Modern and built around a large towering hall, it has a little bit of flair, but otherwise is a standard, decent hotel as many others.

Hotel's Favorite
As part of the business delegation from India, 17 of us had stayed at the hotel for seven nights (May 11-18, 2019). All of us were accommodated in twin-bed rooms with the sea-view. The room was quite large with an ample space for circulation. True to a four-star rated property, the room had all the necessary amenities including a coffee maker, mini fridge, digital locker, ironing board, hair dryer etc. The toilet was quite spacious too with a full-length bathtub. The bed linens and towels provided were of excellent quality. The hotel faced east and we were lucky to enjoy some glorious early morning views from the room. Two yachts docked in front of the hotel, a bridge little away on the narrow sea channel and a stream of people jogging or rushing along the street on their Segways completed the picture. The complimentary breakfast spread was just humongous with a variety of fresh fruits, juices, salads, nuts, cereals, cold cuts (two types of fish, salamis, turkey ham, meat cakes…), eggs on order, sausages, meat balls, boiled veggies, baked beans, yoghurts, freshly baked breads etc. One could hardly do the justice to such an impressive fare. I had dinners too on two occasions at ‘Bro’, the fine dining eatery at the hotel – really enjoyed their Reindeer sirloin along with a glass of draft beer watching canvas of life in the city through the windows. All the staffs were quite attentive and highly responsive to the needs of the residents. I would specially like to mention Ms. Taru from the front desk; we were much thankful to her for meticulous directions, suggestions and guidance in ‘where & what to eat?’, ‘where to shop?’ and ‘how to reach?’. I would rate Hilton Helsinki Strand a fine hotel for living up to needs of the business travellers and also for its beautiful seaside location quite close to the city centre.

We actually had a nice spacious room with views of the harbour. Room 332. Where we experienced some issues was the bathroom sink didn't drain. My wife fixed it after trying in vain to contact the Front desk. By un-screwing the pipework underneath and finding it was clogged up with hair. No scheduled maintenance program in place. Also, when another room closed their door in the corridor outside, an air vacuum occurred that actually shook our beds. Some design issue ? Breakfast too expensive for us at 22 euros each. But, overall a nice hotel.

Dear Clive R, Thanks again for visiting Hilton Helsinki Strand, and evaluating your stay here on TripAdvisor. Please accept my apologies about the issues faced on your visit. I am truly sorry to hear that your wife had to do the fix. This should never be the case. It is easy to understand why the image given by our service seemed neglect or disinterested. However I can assure you that this is not the case, and we are definitely not resting on our laurels. I wanted to correct the information about the breakfast pricing for possible readers, it's actually 28 euros. I hope that we are able to serve you better in the future, and we look forward to welcome you again. Best regards, Markus / GSA

The location of the hotel was perfect as it was situated upon a beautiful wide canal and was only a short (10-15 minute) walk to the city center and all the sights we most wanted to see during our short stay in Helsinki. The hotel was lobby was open and grand. Our room was basic, but very nice, modern, clean, and comfortable. We were in room no. 324. My parents were down the hall in room no. 306. Our room had a beautiful view of the wide canal. My parents' room was nearly identical to ours with a side view of the canal as our view of the canal was better. The bed and pillows were comfy, but the bed was a little on the hard side. We had reserved a crib at the time we made the reservation. The crib was waiting in our room when we arrived. We greatly appreciated the hotel providing the crib and for ensuring it was in our room prior to our arrival. Those little details make traveling with a baby much more comfortable. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the options were plentiful. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
