All my communication with hotel regarding not having a ground floor room with courtyard access over a number of months was ignored. Given a horrible room on ground floor in full view of breakfast room. NB.There is no security to go thru to enter the inner courtyard and therefore

Lots of positives: quiet backstreet location close to city centre and quayside market; a number of good restaurants within a few hundred metres; small scale, plus friendly and helpful staff, made for good atmosphere; lovely breakfasts. The only negative was the lack of effective

I come to Helsinki every quarter for business and usually, I stay at Lila Roberts and wanted a change this time. However, I regretted making such a decision as my room was facing the street and the construction began very early, with the thin curtain in the room, I could barely

Dear Tydebater, Thank you for taking the time review us. I am sorry that you were not able to get a good night sleep here with us. I know that having a construction site next to us is not an ideal situation. However, it is also a situation that we have no control over. We have both king and twin beds in all our room categories as both are requested on daily basis. If you would like to I can check what details was available in your reservation. For this I would need your booking details you can send them to our reception team at info@hotelfabian.fi Thank you for sharing the information about the toothpaste it is true that we do not have them automatically in the room and we provide them when requested. The response you got from the reception is not in line with our service policy and we should have brought this to your room. Please accept my sincere apology for this. Thank you again for your honest review the information provided very important to us. I am also happy that you are fond of our sister establishment Lilla Roberts. Regards,

The staff at Hotel Fabian were just so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed there for two nights, travelled to Tallinn for two nights and returned again for another night. We stored our suitcases at the hotel for the two days we were away. On our return from

How far away is a public sauna from the hotel?
There is the Allas sea pool across the harbour. Maybe 15 to 20min walk. It’s got saunas, outdoor heated pools and a sea pool. As well as a restaurant and a bar.

Depending which cruise operator you book. The hotel is within walking distance of one of the piers.

The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is by Yellow Line Taxi (hope we have remembered the name correctly) - a shared ride shuttle service. It is easily organised in both directions and cost effective. If you contact the hotel they will provide you with other options. The hotel is on a quiet street and only a short walk from the market hall and harbour. It takes a little longer to get to other attractions - perhaps 15 minutes to the Helsinki Cathedral. We found it very convenient and walked to all the places we visited. We enjoyed staying at this hotel - the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were good and the room was very comfortable. The hotel does not have an evening restaurant - you can organise room service, for a 10 Euro delivery fee, from a "sister" hotel a couple of blocks away. We didn't do this as there are some good options for evening meals nearby.

Dear sdettaa, We do have a couple of options for you. Best one would be a Lux room with adjoining corridor next to a Comfort room. Please note that the doors open to a corridor which is not used by other quests. Other options would be a Style room connected to a style room on the 6th floor, but they are rather small. One option also is a Lux room connected to a Lux room, but I would suggest a Lux with a Comfort room. Just send us an email to info@hotelfabian.fi and we can give you rates and more information. Kind Regards, Anna Alamaki Hotel Manager

"Seems to have either calm guests or thick walls, all calmness and quiet all around."
"ask for a room facing the central courtyard for an extra quiet stay"
"Don't believe any of the rooms have any sort of view - focus on what you want in your room."
"Our room was fine. On second floor. Nothing objectionable to note."
"For quiet, ask for a room on the rear. Block-out curtains but no shutters on windows => not full obscurity at night (northern Europe)."
$131 - $286 (Based on Average Rates for a Standard Room)
