I booked a Grand Deluxe Harbour room with seaview. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable and it had a nice view. But I didn't like that the bathroom had a thin glass door and if that door was open I could see the toilet from my pillow. However, as I was travelling alone it didn't matter so much. I also didn't like that the cleaning staff always pulled the black-out curtains to completely cover the window even though I had left the windows uncovered. I don't like coming into a dark room. Location is good. The hotel bar is very nice. Staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet was quite good, but not a very large selection. There is not much space so it can get crowded both around the buffet and between tables.

This hotel was the last we stayed in on our European holiday and sadly it was the most disappointing. We stayed in a Prime Superior Room which was quite spacious - but it was in need of some updating. Everything was just a little bit worn and drab. I found the staff to be friendly but a little bit unhelpful. My elderly mother and I were obviously struggling to get up their entry stairs with our luggage but they just stood behind the desk and watched. They weren't busy, so even if it is not policy, some assistance would have been appreciated. The breakfast was certainly not of the standard we experienced elsewhere. And it was a bit of an effort to find where it was being served and how to get there. On our last day, due to an early flight, we asked for a breakfast box which was totally inadequate. As this was part of our package cost - a proportionate meal should be provided. The hotel location was great, especially to visit Market Square, which was just out the back door. Considering the rating of this hotel and the cost, I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere.

Ideally located near the harbour and walking distance to many attractions in the beautiful city of Helsinki. The breakfast was in a gorgeous room and plenty of choice. Lovely bar and cocktail menu. Helpful and friendly staff.

Our travel agent had booked us into the Hotel Haven and, at the time, we decided not to pay extra for a seaview room. On checking in the charming receptionist advised that an upgrade to a seaview room would cost €50 a night compared to the normal rate of €150 so we decided to take it. The room was utterly gorgeous; spacious, light and with a fantastic view of the harbour and sea. The beds were excellent and really comfortable. The staff at the hotel from checking in to the housekeeping and the breakfast and bar staff were helpful and efficient. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of hot and cold food and a menu of special dishes (at extra cost). The staff in the dining room were excellent. The location of the hotel is wonderful, right on the harbour, and the dining room is in a beautiful old house overlooking the sea. We also ate at Sue Ellens, a restaurant run by the hotel. The food and service were exceptional. We had a memorable 3 night stay. Thank you.

Modern, unfussy. Well-appointed, large rooms with great sleep-quality beds. Breakfast is in a different building across the court-yard (which on a Sunday morning in the winter might wake you up). Breakfast buffet is well selected, and the breakfast area is harbour-facing - a treat. The hotel bar is cosy, and lively without being overbearing. Wi Fi is excellent, as you'd expect in Finland. The hotel is in walking distance to many sights in Helsinki. Given that Helsinki is not overrun by tourists, the concierge in the hotel was genuinely excited to find us a great dinner spot.
