It’s rare these days that you find a hotel that mirrors the dreams you have had in your mind of a holiday on the Greek Islands;perfect location, in a perfect Greek fishing village. Charming & authentic with views over the small port. This is it!!! The most wonderful small hotel, run by the most welcoming owner Theo & his wife. Original Cycladic architecture, marble stairs, balcony to watch the little boats, immaculately clean, lovely bathroom & comfortable beds along with a delicious breakfast. Over the years, The little village has built around the hotel , with a tiny church ( secret hotel balcony overlooks it) & several tavernas & bars to enjoy. The hotel & the village remain authentic & charming - Simple & beautiful, we could have stayed all summer long. Our Greek island dream.

Second stay after a gap of 10 years - still a great place to stay, well located yet quiet and Theo is very helpful and friendly. The history of the hotel is also interesting, still run by the same family for over 60 years since it opened. Breakfasts are excellent and the location is very convenient.

We had previously stayed here in 2012 and were delighted to discover it was as good as ever, with Theodoros a very friendly, kind and helpful host. Breakfasts are very good and can be taken outside looking out to sea and with a view of the windmill. The hotel is ideally located for the ferries, bus stop, bars and restaurants yet still peaceful.

The tittle is self-explanatory. I've been visiting different Greek islands for many years and I have stayed in a wide range of hotels or apartments. This is without the second though the best ever. Friendly and helpful personnel, nice rooms, daily cleaning services to name but a few. A great plus is the location, just a couple of meters from Aegiali port, as well as the local bus stop, which is the only way to get around if you don't have a car.

This hotel is in the town of Aegali so from the ferry one needs to catch a bus which is easy. The hotel has front water views and a great owner who will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Nice restaurants and shops around hotel.

This is a fantastic hotel! Situated right on the harbour with fantastic views. Very clean and comfortable. We loved it. The owner, Theodoros and his wife are lovely, helpful people. Their staff at breakfast were super friendly and the breakfast buffet was great. The rooms are well serviced and kept really clean. We will definitely be going back, loved Amorgos.

I first visited Amorgos in 2012 and I had no idea what to expect from Mikes, but found it to be excellent. Now, I’m back for my fourth visit and it simply gets better. Thodoris makes consistent minor changes that continually improve on an already excellent property. Rooms 9 & 10 on the top floor, while small, offer a shared roof terrace with perfect views of sunrise and / or sunset on the bay. The rooms and the property are immaculate. And the prices? Incredibly low, given the location (literally only a few hundred feet after you leave boats docking at Aegiali Bay), the quality of the rooms, and the proximity to Aegiali’s beach, restaurants, cafes and travel services. Others may be wonderful, but Mikes is certainly the best!

As promised in my previous review last year (August 2017), I stayed at Mike Hotel again when I revisited the beautiful island of Amorgos in July 2018. Nothing has changed; the hospitality is amazing, the view to the bay is extraordinary and the amenities are wonderful! Without a doubt probably one of the best options in the island. Hope to revisit Amorgos (and Mike Hotel of course) many more times in the future.

We loved our stay at Hotel Mike! When planning our trip to Amorgos I contacted Theodoros (the hotel owner) and he was incredibly helpful. He advised me by email of all the different ferries which call at Amorgos (we were travelling from Naxos and took the Highspeed4 – a really nice ship and very speedy as you’d expect from the name). There are two ferry ports on Amorgos – we arrived in Katapola and took a taxi to Aegiali (this was €28 as far as I recall). We were met by Theodoros on arrival, our check-in was super speedy and we were shown to a lovely room with a private balcony and a fantastic harbour view. The room had everything we could want - air-con, a nice bathroom with shower (and lovely olive oil toiletries), a big, very comfortable bed, a wardrobe (with lots of coat hangers), a fridge so that we could chill anything we brought back to the hotel. On the balcony there was even a discreet clothesline so that we could dry our swimming things. There were extra pillows in the wardrobe and we were told that the hotel could loan us beach towels and even do our laundry – both free of charge (we took them up on the laundry offer and it was ready on the same day - folded and placed on the bed ready for our return). The housekeeping at the hotel is of a very high standard. Our room was cleaned to perfection each day, with a change of sheets and towels (the towels appearing back on our bed in the shapes of boats or butterflies). We took breakfast at the hotel 4 out of the 6 days we stayed there and it was lovely (great value at €7 per person). Great coffees (double Greek for my husband and a Frappe for me) served on the terrace overlooking the sea and a pretty windmill. The food was great quality with jams and thyme honey produced by the hotel’s owner, along with his homemade cakes too! Local cheese, yoghurt and eggs – gorgeous fresh fruit, along with dried figs, raisins and nuts. Superb. A fantastic location. Right by the port, shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars with a short walk to the beach. Perfect. To be honest I’m not sure I should post this review... I want there to be rooms available for my next visit! Thanks to Theodoros and all his staff. We had a fantastic holiday.

Everything about this hotel was good. Theo, the owner, was always very helpful. We had booked a standard room on the second floor as the third floor rooms, which have a sun terrace had already been booked. However, as one of these rooms became available for our stay, Theo very kindly e-mailed us to ask if we would prefer one of the sun terrace rooms. When we arrived, he then showed us both rooms - we chose the third floor room which, although smaller than the standard rooms, did have a wonderful sun terrace that we used most days after coming back to the hotel. The location is excellent - a couple of minutes from the ferry at Aegiali and also very close to several tavernas and bars. There was very little noise from the bars. Theo provides an optional buffet breakfast. This included a good range of food and is well worth taking. The cost of the hotel was very reasonable and really good value.
