Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We were travelling with 2 German Shephards. Most hotels do not like pets - but in Lapland Hotel they are welcome.
Hotel is nice, located walking distance from center. They have a restaurant (arrived late - was closed), bar and sauna (closed due to covid). Staff was great.
As a pet owner, the hotel is great. There is superb ”welcome package” for pets with loads of information (location of dog park, location of vet, location of pet friendly bars). Pets are welcome for the breakfast (separate area) and staff were helpfull regarding pets.

Hotel has excellent restaurant with recently renewed menu.
Rooms are decorated for example with reindeer horns over the bed. Elevator and corridor music was native Sami yoik. Sound level was comfortably low and stays in the corridors, not disturbing you in the room.
In room entertainment system has probably the most original content I have seen in any hotel outside Finland or this hotel chain. Lots of beautiful imagery from Finnish nature with Sami yoik as as sound tapestry.

Stayed here for one night with my two beagles and the experience was very positive. Truly pet friendly, the dogs were also given a goodie-bag with treats which was a nice touch.
The location next to a park was very useful as we were traveling with pets.
Excellent breakfast, good parking facilities.

Been travelling around the world for more than 25 years, but it was the first time I stayed at a 4* hotel for 170 EUR/per night in the room on the third floor WITHOUT a window! The room had only a balcony to an inner courtyard with the roof and the restaurant/breakfast area down below. Therefore it was quite noisy and no fresh air in the room at all! The conditioner did not work, i.e. it was set on +24C and therefore it was very hot in the room. The sauna area was under renovation (can't it be done in the summer time and not during Christmas?). The water in the pool was quite cold. Not enough towels in the pool/spa area. The breakfast coffee was undrinkable (basically brown and bitter water). The brealfast itself was quite good, although the same every day. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed here twice, to and from our Lappland tour. Location is nice and quiet, short walking distance to city center. Big plus during cold winter days was warm garage (extra fee).
Our comfort plus room was stylish, comfy beds and modern bathroom with bath tube. The first room was facing inner court, the second was facing Ainola park - that was nice.
Very good breakfast. Maybe the best whole corn oat porridge I have ever eaten!
Delicious dinners at OULA Kitchen & Bar. Friendly ja easy going service specially at the reception. All the staff and fellow customers was wearing masks. There was also disinfection gel available. No any worries about health security.

Our stay started off pretty terrible. Arriving late in the evening, we checked in and headed to our room to find it rather unclean.
There were several hairs in the bath and bathroom, a couple on the base of the wardrobe and even a hair under the pillow on the bed! Needless to say, we were put off right away. We also soon realised that our bedroom technically didn't even have a window; the balcony faced into the centre of the hotel and looked down upon the restaurant. It was stuffy with no fresh air and dark. It was rather like being in a cheap windowless cruise ship room.
We complained to reception and they were very nice and prompt in arranging another room. We couldn't fault their service. However, if it had been earlier in the day, we would have found somewhere else to stay.
The new room was clean and faced outwards which was nice. But otherwise I wouldn't call it luxury (having dark coloured furniture does not make a hotel 'fancy').
The worst part of the new room was the fact there was no privacy in the bathroom. There was a large coloured window between the bathroom and bedroom so anyone sharing the room with you can see every inch of you while you shower and poop.
We will not stay again.
Oh, and parking is VERY tight, so if you have a big car, don't bother.
Breakfast was basic but ok.

Very nice hotels. BUT tries to monetize on everything that is included free on hotels of this type. For example, you have to pay additional to use the street bikes, to charge EV car on top of charging the most expensive overnight parking I've paid in Finnish hotels, to even get a cappuccino in breakfast buffet... it would be a lot better if they would make you feel like they have your back rather than want you extra money.

Stayed one night with kids 6, 3 & 2. Booked last minute during the holiday Season but managed to get a nice room with sofa bed for the kids. Also extra points for the bubble bath soap! The whole hotel has a nice and well executed Lapland/reindeer theme and people at the reception & restaurant were really nice and helpful. Can easily recommend this place!

Nice and clean hotel with comfortable interior design. Good location. It would have been easier to sleep, if the room wasn't so hot (+24 °C) and if there wasn't Tuomiokirkko Cathedral playing its bells next to your window.
A rich breakfast was pleasant, but it took too long to get a cup of coffee from the staff. Please, just buy a coffee machine if your service concept doesn't work.

Had one night stay here on our way back home from our Lapland trip. I have heard only positive things about this chain of hotels and especially about their breakfast. I must say I wasn’t let down. My photo doesn’t do justice for the amazing breakfast they serve! There were so many delicious options that I missed like half of them because of my small tummy! The rooms are new and very well decorated. Amazingly soft sheets. Lapland Hotels is a very tough competitor for traditional Finnish chain hotels. And I must say I will definitely choose this chain again in the future! Quality-price-ratio is totally on point if compared to boring traditional chain hotels in Finland. Will definitely recommend Lapland Hotels to any of my friends and mutuals - this was absolutely lovely surprise in Finnish hotel scene!

Hi, we are situated next to city center and big park By the river. In city you can,t see northern lights, because so much light. For example 20km from us you can have a Husky Safari and if weather is fine also see Northern lights
