Great bear viewing... really easy to book, great communication, transfers easily arranged and beautiful setting with bears aplenty!! Cannot recommend Wild Brown Bear Lodge highly enough. Although the food wasn't amazing, we were well fed, never going hungry and even given snack packs for overnight in the hides!

We booked a family holiday with Explore who took care of our flights, accomodation and meals. We stayed for 3 nights and spent the second night in a hideout deep in the forest. We saw 4 bears and a wolverine. 2 bears came pretty close to our hideout. Exciting! The accommodation and meals at the lodge are basic, but you...

We stayed one night in the centre, in the hide B, everything was perfect, staff was available and kind. We saw bears, wolverines and foxes. The only negative point was that after opening the wc door, we were sorrounded by a horrible smell. It would be better not to have it at all rather than having it in this condition....

Excellent stay with friendly staff. Many hides from which to observe the Bears and if you are lucky wolverines and wolves. Food was plentiful and of good simple standard. For those that want to there is a sauna and it's possible to swim in the nearby lake. Accommodation was basic but clean. For those that want to there is a...

We stayed there for two nights. The first night we saw 6 bears, in fantastic light. Second night we only saw 2 bears, but we also saw the wolverine. The bears and wolverine were 3-25 meters from the shelter. The shelters were very basic, but are located with great views. It's good value for money. It's a great experience. And...

We only went for one night and were in hide no 4 but we saw 4 brown bears and 2 rather skittish woolverine so we were absolutely thrilled. The hide itself is a tight fit and pretty basic but we had good views across the lake. The whole operation was well run and there was a hot meal before you...

What a visit we stayed 3 nights in different hides each night no 6, 21 & 17 each different locations and slightly different inside. We were very lucky we saw bears each night up close. We saw the most the first night from hide 6 with a few birds to keep us entertained while waiting for the Bears. We saw...

We stayed 3 nights on an organised trip booked through a company in the UK so I can't comment on the booking process etc. The lodge is very basic, as one would expect, but the rooms are comfortable. The rooms upstairs all seemed to have en suite facilities while those downstairs and in the basement had shared bathrooms. Meals and...

We are nature lovers so when going in early spring to Finland's forests, I know virgin forests with pristine snow as all times before and when extreme lucky even mammals. So we were shocked to see all the plastic and garbage around the hides. Birds picked it up and scattered it around. Bags with human excreta were just thrown away...

Wild brown bear is well known among bear aficionados and we came here with great expectations. It was my first time here but my 3rd in Finland so I have been around in a few places already. Online reservations had been very smooth with Ari so it looked promising. We spent 3 nights in the hides and got some nice...

“The swimming pool is the lake in fron of the main building, if it is enough warm and not frozen:-) There are no double rooms available. This is more like an adventure trip and not honeymoon, so consider this fact when you look at my rating.”
