At the Santa Claus Holiday Village, guests have called out the warm, festive atmosphere that includes holiday decorations and Christmas trees, contributing to a cozy experience. The spacious rooms with private saunas are a hit, although some visitors have issues with the cleaning services.
Service quality appears to be inconsistent, with some guests experiencing exceptional assistance and others facing unresponsiveness. While the accommodations earn praise for their coziness and amenities, the value is questioned due to high prices and additional costs for extras.

Hotel's Favorite
It was snowing as we landed in Rovaniemi on 16th March 2023.We hired a rent a car and within 10 minutes we were at Santa Claus Holiday village. The staff at the reception was very accomodative and prepared our room for an early checkin. The cottage was spacious and clean with an basic equipped kitchen and a sauna. The staff at the reception breifed us about our options for the husy and reindeer ride. The Arctic circle, Santa's office, Santa's post office, the Husky Park( where we did the husky jenga ride for 90 EUR for 2 Adults and 2 children) a small reindeer park ( where we did the 500m reindeer ride for 60EUR for 2 adults and 2 children), the kids snow mobile(22EUR per child) were all within walking distance from our accomodation. As all the attractions were close to our accomodation, we had the oppurtunity to amble through the frozen village duing night time with the colorful and magical lights which made the village look facinating. We went to meet Santa at this official office and the kids had an exciting time striking a conversation with Santa for a couple of minutes. We were not allowed to click pictures with Santa using our own camera but the elf there was our photographer and while leaving the office, we could buy our digital photos and the recorded video conversation with Santa for 50 EUR.
We had booked our accomodation with breakfast and the breakfast was served in the three elves restaurant. Ambiance was good and there was a descent spread with breads, vegan spreads, marmalade, boiled eggs, berries and yogurt, fruits, cornflakes, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, vegan milk, and juices. Since we were vegetarians, we could explore only these options. There were toboggans available for free at the reception enterance and kids were sliding on the heapes of snow near the accomodation. We stayed here for 2 nights and the kids loved the place. The staff at the reception even referred some places to view the Auroras but we could not view the lights in Rovaniemi as it was cloudy. We walked through the woods behind our accomodation early morning on the 17th and it was an amazing stroll in the snowy woods.
18th Morning after breakfast we were leaving for Saariselka and it was snowing heavily, upon asking, the staff at the reception assured us that it is very much safe to drive while its snowing.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at Santa Claus Holiday Village.

We were greeted by the Santa Claus Holiday Village's free airport shuttle driver holding a "Welcome to Santa Claus Holiday Village" near the terminal exit. The drive from Rovaniemi airport to the resort was about 5 mins. We were driven right up to our cottage to drop our luggage. We then walked to the reception in Three Elves Restaurant to register. Very good service.
Our spacious Superior Cottage with Sauna comes with a large double bed and a double sofa bed, so can comfortably accommodate 4 adults. Everything in the cottage looks new. There was a kettle, tea bags and coffee sachets. Daily cleaning service was provided and the cleaner (s) only came when we were not in the cottage. No need to hang the usual "Please Do Not Disturb" or "Please Clean Room" sign.
The included buffet breakfast served at Christmas House in Santa Claus Village (a short walk from our cottage) was good. Overall a very memorable stay.

Stayed with children in Santa Claus Holiday Village for 2 nights.
In the afternoon in the village there are quite a lot of people who come to visit Santa. However, after 16-00 the streets are empty. The whole village is beautifully decorated with colorful lights.
We rented a standard cottage. The cottage is designed for 4 people (2 + 2), but in this case a sofa is laid out and there is no free space in the room, because she's not very big. The cottage has a small kitchenette and some kitchen utensils. It was very amusing that all the devices were clearly 4 (4 plates, 4 forks, etc.).
For breakfast, which is included in the price, we went to the Christmas house restaraunt. The choice is not very large, but you can find something to eat.
It was unpleasantly surprised that cars were driving throughout the village. You should hold the child by the hand all the time. It would be grate to close at least the passage along the farm with deer (Joulumaantie). So that children have the opportunity to walk or ride quietly.
At the reception you can take sleds for children, only there are no slides (( There is one big slide in the Snowmen World for 30 euros and that's it. We went sledding near the suites and Nova Skyland Hotel. There were small slides of snow that were raked off the road.

We booked this hotel for our last two days of our Lapland Visit. We knew it might be very touristy but thought the location to the airport and the city outweighed the possible negatives. Yes, there are tourists, but it never felt as if it was crowded. The room (Suite Type A) was wonderful! It came with everything that you would need (minus a washing machine) and was very large. Really more like a cabin, with a separate sleeping area, lounge, kitchenette. And VERY comfortable. The best was the best bed of all of our stays. Nice large and fluffy Duvet, great illows, really nice and fluffy robes and slippers. They do charge for maid service (or at least it was noted in their guide), which would be the only suggestion for change. The grounds are kept very clean, the food in the restaurants was quite good. There is no "bars" per se, but you can get a drink at the restaurant bar areas. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend

We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 children in a suite for 6 nights for €3852 including breakfast. Although there are benefits to staying on site in SCHV as there are many activities on your doorstep along with at least 2 Santa options I had a higher expectation than the standards we received for the price we paid.
I chose to book a suite as cleaning is stated as included. This was not the case at all for the whole 6 days. When I queried the cleaning I was informed that ‘cleaning’ includes changing of bath towels if they have been placed on the floor, making of the bed (not changing the bed linen) and emptying the garbage. For the entire 6 days our suite was not cleaned nor was the bed linen changed. I think it’s unacceptable that they charge these prices, advertise they provide cleaning yet not fulfil what they promote.
The bathroom set up was not something we are used to. The shower free flows into the bathroom. The floor has a minor gradient to supposedly let the water flow down the drain. With 4 people showering daily the bathroom was a wet mess. The shower door was not fit for its purpose, a proper cubicle needs to be installed. Again with no cleaning provided it was up to us to keep on top of the mess, not something I feel we should be doing on holiday for the price we paid.
The breakfast was served in the Three Elves restaurant which was varied and catered to a range of tastes. Fresh omelette to order, hot buffet breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausages, cold cuts, salad and lots of breakfast pastries, waffles, croissants etc. However for 3 days running they were putting out the salt and pepper yet the pepper was empty. I asked two days for pepper and received it in a separate ramekin, the third day the lady told me if it wasn’t on display they had run out. It’s a restaurant,…….how can you run out of salt and pepper? It’s just pure laziness not to fill these items before setting out the display, salt and pepper is a staple.
My husband asked if it was possible to either borrow a phone charger or could reception charge his phone whilst we were in the restaurant, the response was no. This is a basic guest request that I feel should be fulfilled.
Airport transfers were very prompt. On the whole it was just ok. I expected so much more for the money I paid and in retrospect wished I had stayed at either Nova Skyland or Glass resort as the SCHV suites are in the same area as these 2 options and there is no comparison. Personally I would not recommend staying when prices are at their peak as it is not worth the money at all.

The hotel is nice and rooms are clean an well maintained.
Staff in reception could be more nice to customers.
Restaurant at the hotel is of good quality and employees are friendly.
Outdoor activities counter is not well managed , as the offer (expensive) is not reflected on reality (1h snow mobile means really just 30 min driving...rest is preparing for activity), and at least with us we missed one activity as the hour written was not correct. They subcontract a lot and quality is variable.
Reindeer tour is in closed circuit...
Very nice and beautiful landscape. It worth go one time in life (with kids only).
Try to stay on the hotels based in Santa claus village (is the center of all this region), much better to enjoy activities and avoid transportation dependency. Very short offer of restaurants and variety

We have just returned from a 4 nights stay here and it was fantastic. The location was great because everything we wanted to do was within walking distance from our cabin.
We stayed in a Superior Cottage - it was a great size with a nice lounge area and a kitchenette - tea & coffee maker, small fridge, microwave and two hob rings, also a dishwasher.
The bedroom was a good size with a very big tv and good wardrobe space. The bed was huge and the most comfortable I think I have ever slept on!
The bathroom was also good, slipper and robes provided as well as a hairdryer and basic toiletries. The sauna was fantastic and just what was needed after a day out in the cold.
The cabin was lovely and warm, you would forget how cold it is outside.
The breakfast was delicious and a different selection each day. Including hot meats, porridge, pastries, fresh fruit etc. Plenty of options to choose from.
Our first morning was in the Christmas House then the rest of the week at the Three Elves, I personally thought breakfast at the Three Elves was much calmer and more organised.
We pre booked a shuttle bus from the airport which is a free service. You can easily contact via the hotel website to request this. It took us directly to our cabin which meant we didn’t have to drag our luggage through the snow. I then booked our return to the airport at the reception during our stay, which again picked us back up from our cabin.
Overall our stay was delightful and we would definitely stay here again.

Had a room no 69 for 4 pers. With sauna. Rooms are fairly fresh renovated. Why did they put a tile floor without propper heating in the floor very cold to walk on. Required help from sauna to heat it up. If it is minus 20c no chance to keep this floor warm. Room was clean and All worked except for a few bulbs. Breakfast was horible we had to eat at the christmas house which is a cafeteria. We paid 2200 euro for 5 nights and was asked to pay extra 80 euro per breakfast to upgrade our breakfast to three elves restaurant. Not impressed with that answer. Area is a huge winner so it did not ruin our stay but put this accomodation any where in the world it would not be there in 2 years time when you have to perform to get clients.

We stayed in a classic cottage for 3 nights over Christmas, 23 to 26 December.
The cottage is very cute - we were allocated number 40 which is at the back of all the cottages.
Parking was free and available next to the cottage with power to plug in your car.
The cottage had a very small kitchen area with a fridge, dining table for 4, lounge which assumes converts into a bed and tv which was above the bed. We found that odd! We reorganised the location of the lounge to give us more room for bags and also be able to watch the TV.
The bathroom had your own sauna and was a decent size. Lack of bench space but empty cupboard beside the sink to store your bathroom amenities.
There are two cottages to each entry but only heard our neighbour when coming in due to stomping of boots to get the snow off them
There is no daily housekeeping and as we had -20 degrees after the 2nd night we requested more towels. We were advised there would be a charge for this but in the end they delivered us extra towels without charge.
Breakfast was included and this was in the Christmas restaurant. All the normal hot and cold options including a toaster and hot chocolate. It was generally quiet at breakfast, surprisingly!
Overall great stay marked it down due to the drama with towels.

The whole of Santa Village is magical, filled with snow everywhere and “Christmasy” atmospheric all around!
We booked a family suite which is situated a distance away from the main lobby area. In my opinion, i think the cottages are of a much more convenient location to the lobby than the suites room. Room is clean, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Room size is considered spacious compared to the cottages. It even comes with a kitchenette and a microwave which you can easily heat up some food on your own. It has a big balcony too which you can open up to cool down the room if it gets too warm with the heater on. The saua is a good alternative to dry up all the wets gloves and jackets after the kids played in the snow ;) Personally, the shower area lacks the basic functionality . There is no rack to put all the shower gel and shampoo., all have to be left on the floor. There is a dispenser attached to the wall though, but is the same hand soap that was used at the sink area! We stayed for 4 nights and was appalled that our towels were not changed at all during housekeeping. Even the floor mat that was already wet and dirty on our first night, was not changed at all! The housekeeping only did the basic of clearing the rubbish in the bins and making up the beds. For the amount that we paid for the suites, the service received was certainly not on par! There is even no facial tissue provided in the room at all. On our second last morning, our room was even left unlock by the housekeeping and it was evidently them because the rubbish had been cleared in the room but the beds were done halfway… this is definitely not very acceptable in our opinion leaving thr guest room not lock!
Breakfast was buffet style and will ends by 1000am. Not much selections and it was pretty chaotic. We even skip our breakfast for two days even though we paid for it.
As of all hotels in Santa Village, they do provide airport transfer to the airport. Receptionists are nice and friendly and will assist to keep the luggages for you. Is a good base to explore all the activities in Lapland but accommodations wise, Santa Holidays Village fails to hit the spot for the price charged!

We were there too early, beginning of September. You would have to drive where there is no street or house lights.
I think there is a post in the Rovenemi forum about hiring winter clothes so have a look on there. I just got stuff from Lidl/Aldi - as I wasn't going to be using if very frequently, so layers, a good jacket, and I had ski trousers and good snow boots.
Hi, we had a great time here. The price is constant regardless of when you book, it’s also non refundable. We upgraded our rooms on arrival and were very glad we did, they were excellent.
The restaurants are expensive, though the meals are excellent. (Kids meals are well priced). There are lots of restaurants on site, book in advance if you can but we found the time we ate there was always a table available. Our kids were 9, 9 & 2 when we went. Everyone has amazing memories. I would strongly recommend masks for the flight, extensive hand washing and wiping down your area on the plane both ways. Our trip was wonderful but there was a lot of sickness - I guess because people can’t cancel they just go even with bugs, sadly. Hope you have a wonderful time :)
