This was the most beautiful place I've ever been to. A must see for nature lovers and people who are ready to escape. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we had everything we needed there as far as utensils/ clean bedding/storage for food We went snorkeling and swam with turtles, we ate bang bang shrimp that was bang bang! We relaxed at the beach and also at our cabin. It was definitely a place I will be back to re visit and longer! 💖

Best friend & I decided it was time to do another girls trip! Spent hours going over where to stay before booking with the campground. We called a few hotels & the campground was not only informative, through, but they also made sure we were safe & taken care of. Sent us instructions ahead of time with all the information you’ll need to travel, Link to Virgin Islands travel portal, sunscreen information, details about the restaurants and points of interest on Water Island. Mark was our main point of contact when we arrived, picked us up from the ferry & shared a few fun facts on the way up to the campground. The living quarters themselves were a simple relaxation focused shelter! Eco friendly, water conservative, and shared common areas were clean, safe, and above all absolutely perfect! This campground and water island is luxurious for soul! The trip will be what you make, we plan to come back as soon as possible and give the highest recommendation to stay here! You won’t be disappointed unless you need more than a water front view, great people, and prefer your own bathroom 😉

We stayed at the VIC for 4 nights - a quick getaway after this insane year and now being vaccinated. For those who want the adventure of glamping, it’s terrific. The campground is on Water Island, a ✨magical ✨small island off the coast of St. Thomas. It hosts one of the nicest beaches in the area Honeymoon Beach where we snorkeled and saw turtles every swim. The managers of the campground Mark and Lori couldn’t be nicer and pick you up and drop you back at the dock to/from St. Thomas. They also own a shop for local art and shave ice :))) The cabins are screened in so you get the breezes and sounds of the ocean. Our cabin #3 had a lovely view of the ocean, queen bed and porch. There is a communal kitchen if you want to pick up food for yourselves in St. Thomas at Pueblos (diagonally across from the marina which also lets you push the shopping cart to the marina - thank you Pueblos!) and cook. We cooked breakfast each day, dinner 1 night and then enjoyed the two restaurants the island had to offer - Dinghy’s and Heidi’s (awesome for lunch 11-4 only and breakfast on sundays). There is also a communal bathroom with 2 showers and an outdoor shower. The views from the campground are lovely (David Geffen’s yacht was parked when we were there) and we rented a golf cart from Rachael’s (Rachael and Kathy are so nice) to make it super easy to buzz around the island. The flowers are abundant as are the hummingbirds. Finally, We met so lovely people during our stay at VIC and after this crazy pandemic was an amazingly refreshing experience. P.S. the island is super casual so pack light with bathing suit, snorkel gear if you have it (otherwise they’ll rent it to you), casual light clothes for meals and that’s it.

We stayed at the VIC for a week at the end of March 2021. Its situated on a hill with great views our spot was #8 and we had a great view. The lodging is minimalistic, but you don't need much. We had 2 queen beds, a small table, a great porch, and a dresser. Ample room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Bottom line is that we really only slept in there and it was plenty sufficient for that. There isn't air conditioning so take note if you require that - none of us did, the breeze was good and with a fan we all slept fine. The bathrooms are shared and camping style in good shape and clean. All water is recycled which is a pretty cool setup, and all water is captured via rain and treated/filtered for drinking. The pavilion is shared by everyone and it worked out great. Pro tip 1: Get groceries at the Pueblo (close to ferry), or if you venture to the Fruit Basket, use the Safari Taxi system to get there ($1 per person each way). It was an adventure. There is only basically Dinghy's on Honeymoon Beach to eat at otherwise (at the time of this review, Heidi's was open only a couple days a week and not for a late meal). You won't eat dinner on St. Thomas because the last ferry back is 6pm. It gets dark at 630pm all the time more or less. What was particularly fun was that since the pavilion/kitchen area is shared, you meet all the guests and if your cool with it, you end up sharing food - there are always extra's whether your own or someone else's. It was an unexpected bonus to meet a bunch of people that way - really great. The facility in general is clean and organized well. The hosts of the VIC were friendly, helpful and at the ready if anything was needed. The two camp cats were a highlight for our kids, and the tortoises and Iguana's were everywhere. Everything is walking distance for the most part, a golf cart really isn't necessary for the week, maybe a day or two to see the island and the fort, but the beaches and the small store - even Heidi's up on the hill - are all within .4mi or less. But if you are not into walking you can definitely rent a cart for your stay. Respect the sun down there - we missed some nuanced spots and got a few red spots as a result. Take a boat ride with one of the recommendations from the hosts (Mark/Lori) - it was a highlight and being on the water is great. The camp gets our full endorsement, and we highly recommend it, especially for families. Make sure to snorkel at Honeymoon Beach. We saw/watched sea turtles everyday! VIC has equipment for rent or bring your own. We also snorkeled on our boat excursion - lots to see! Pro tip number 2: there is no need to bring clothes for a nice dining experience, on Water Island. Both Dinghy's (beach bar) and Heidi's (similar to a food truck), are real casual. You can get by with half of what you think you need. T's, couple suits, 2 pairs shorts, sundresses, flipflops, and tennies. You can do this trip in a backpack and have spares. Until next time.

What a wonderful review. I always love the detailed reviews...so helpful for potential guests to decide, "Is this for me?" I giggled when you said to bring two suits...you meant swimming suits...but I thought full suite with tie and long sleeve shirt...just made me giggle. Thank you for taking the time to share. It is much appreciated. Sincerely, Deborah

Enjoyed a wonderful stay with husband and our two sons (age 14 & 15). Beautiful location, nice accommodations and great experience all around. We enjoyed the relaxation, but plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained with snorkeling, beach activities and exploring the island.
