I randomly found this place and booked trip last year and loved it so much I've been back 2 more times since. The campgrounds are awesome, Mark, Lori, and Juna are all very nice and accommodating. Couldn't ask for more. Will be back as soon as things open back up from the pandemic

Thank you!. And certainly don't forget, after the 9th stay, the 10th stay is free. We have already given 3 free stays. I am not sure who enjoyed it more. Us or the guests... Until your next stay, safe safe and healthy. Sincerely, Deborah

Made so many friends, my kids had a blast. We rented a golf cart, loved heidie’s. Get the bushwacker! Beach is exquisite. Campground was immaculate. We will be back ! We snorkeled at limestone, drove up to the fort. Spent most time at honeymoon beach and campground. First night there was a tropical rain storm and it was so incredible to listen too on the roof of our cabin.

We found paradise at the campground! The camp hosts Mark and Lori were simply amazing! We had everything we needed and the chance to meet and mingle with other campers that were there too! The campground is a quick walk to the beautiful Honeymoon Beach with some of the best swimming and beach bars around! I highly recommend staying here, it’s more like little cottages than what we in Ohio know as a campground with an RV, trailer or rent! but it has the community feel like we do at our campground at home! Great for singles, couples or take the camp over with all your family and friends! ❤️❤️❤️

When we arrived at the Virgin Islands Campground, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As I entered the Suite we stayed in, I could tell this would be a great experience. The Virgin Islands Campground Includes cottages, a shower room, and a great natural environment. The Campground is located near Limestone Bay. Limestone Bay is a all natural non maintained beach, with lots to explore. This Beach isn’t the Atlantic Ocean though, it actually is the Caribbean Sea. Limestone Bay Isn’t the best swimming destination, but that’s why there is a beautiful beach not that far from the campground called Honeymoon Beach. Honeymoon Beach is a great place for swimming of all ages. The water is clear, and calm. At Honeymoon Beach, there is a restaurant on each end of the beach: Dingy's And Heidi's. We ate a Dingy's quite a bit. The food there is very good, and I totally recommend it. Another cool thing on Water Island is Fort Segarra. Fort Segarra is a Fort built during WWII. Fort Segarra is open to explore at any time of the day. So overall water Island, and the Virgin Islands Campground is clean, and the people are very nice. -Simon (Age:12)

Simon ( Age 12) !! Now that was a surprise when I got down to the end of your amazing review. Age 12, really?!!! Wow. That is a first and oh my gosh so so appreciated. Actually, Simon, I agree that Limestone Beach can sometimes not be the best for swimming since it is open ocean. I understand during your visit the trade winds were blowing, which we love too, but when they are not...it is amazing snorkeling ( as long as you have a partner). You're more likely to find less trade winds in the summer, so I hope someday you can visit us then ( no guarantees, as we do often have beautiful trade winds, but a little less strong during the summer months.) I had to go back and see what you said about Fort Segarra...so glad you mentioned this...I think too it is a pretty amazing place for kids to explore...and did you know that this fort use to double as a cistern to collect rain water for the the hotel that use to be on Water Island? And now, it is a go to spot in the unlikely event of a hurricane... Again, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with me and all the world!! Sincerely, Deborah

I’m not one to write reviews, but the Virgin Islands Campground was an experience that I wish everyone could enjoy. I found this little gem of a place online and saw all the great reviews so we booked it for our family of four. We had the BEST time. We love the outdoors and the cabin was nestled in the hillside giving us the perfect amount of privacy and an amazing view. It is definitely a camp-like experience so if you don’t like wildlife/critters it might not be the spot for you, but we loved the turtles and watching the hermit crabs. I have to say the best part of the whole experience was the interaction with the other guests. We met a great group of people and it was so nice to eat meals with them and make connections with people face to face. In this “connected” world we live in, I think we all are missing real connections and I didn’t realize how much I have been craving that. Even my kids would rush up to the community area every chance they got so they could chat with our new friends. You just don’t get that experience when you stay at a resort or hotel. It was the most relaxing trip I’ve had in a long time and none of us wanted it to end. Water Island is the place to be if you want to escape and have a very quiet low key vacation. I can’t say enough good things about it. We would definitely go back.

It is really hard to respond to such a review...what you explained was exactly what we wanted to share when we built the campground 12 years ago. WOW Like I have been saying for years, Water Island and Virgin Islands Campground is the best place to stay when visiting St. Thomas. Hands down. We are so pleased you and your family were lucky enough to #1 find us and #2 enjoy your visit in a way that it is hard to explain...feeling more local than a tourist... Thank you for sharing in such a beautiful way. Sincerely, Deborah
