We stayed one night in snow castle and one night in olokolo and it was way too long! We couldn't wait to leave the place! There's not much to do in kemi! -the snow castle is amazing, and the experience of sleeping in the ice room is very unique. But my partner and I barely slept despite wearing as many... More

How nice it sounds and how good previous recommendations might be... This is not the same place. It really was not what you expect for this money. We stayed on a Monday which is even cheaper than weekend prices... So if you really insist on sleeping in a 'snowcastle' go on a Monday. You have to change in front of... More

We had a suite for a night in the Snow Castle and it was an experience. About -5 degrees Celsius (41 F) in the room and really warm sleeping bag for two where to sleep. Tips: wear beanie and light pajamas in the sleeping bag. We had a dinner in the Snow Restaurant and it was kind of a fast... More

This was the first time we visited the Kemi snowcastle. It was very nice indeed, but having seen pictures from previous years we had a feeling they didn't do as well this year as before. We were expecting more artwork - the walls were carved in almost every room very nicely but somehow it would've been nice to see more... More

Not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is amazing. With long ornately carved halls and rooms it is fun to discover what is next. Resist the urge to say "the snow castle is cool !" I have already worn that one out. If your in Kemi and have an hour or so it's worth the price... More

I didn’t quite know what to expect when I arrived at the hotel. And that’s despite being an extremely seasoned traveler, an obsessive researcher, and a guest at the seminal Ice Hotel in Sweden. I chose it for its range of attractions beyond just the carved frozen water structures, specifically the (a) “Olokolo” glass igloos, and (b) the Sampo ice... More

Kemi snow hotel and castle are very beautiful and 'must see' places. Decorations on the walls of the rooms are nice and schick. The staff is very helpful and polite with smiling faces. I stayed for one night in olokolo. It was amazing! Warm little nest in the middle of arctic. You can see the clouds, stars and the frozen... More

Excellent place to stay, especially if you combine it with the Sampo Icebreaker! Unique, and well run. You'll be toasty but yet surrounded by ice sculptures and snow! Definately eat in the Snow Restaurant as the table and seats are solid ice (Seats covered in Reindeer fur), so quite fun especially for the kids. There is play area complete with... More

If you travel to Lapland you must visit the snow castle of Kemi, because it's a unique sight in the world. Anyway Kemi would be a boring town for a tipycal tourist but if you would like to get know Finnish culture you will fall in love with this small Lapish town.

Was in Kemin in 2010 as an Erasmus Exchange Student. I was lucky to be there during the snow castle season. I went to the annual opening and it was amazing. Returned there a few days later to visit the all Castle and it was incredible and unique. Never seen anything like that and never will see it again, as... More

The SnowCastle of Kemi by the Gulf of Bothnia in Finland is the source of great pride as well as a true showcase of architectonic snow-work of the local constructors. Every winter - year 2014 for the 19th time in a row -the SnowCastle offers wonderful experiences for both children and adults alike. Great light-effects will add to the charm of the snow- and ice-sculpting as well as to the structures about the Snow Castle.
