I will not recommend the untidy and expensive rooms of Vuorilinna to anybody. The price per room (140 €/night) suggests there's a lot to expect, but the "hotel" offers no amenities. The rooms were barely cleaned up. There was a bag full of rubbish left on the balcony and the floor was not even vacuumed. The breakfast was very simple.... More

Very nicely situated on an island with other hotels and a theatre but only a few minutes walk from the railway station and town centre. Not strictly a hotel as the rooms are used by students and the nearby hotel takes charge of running them as a commercial venture during the summer. Checked in via the main hotel reception, the... Pretty much everything is said here in TripAdvisor already. It's a student dormitory building which is turned into a summer hotel every summer. The rooms are small and simple but have stoves and fridges. The beds are actually pretty bad. Casino hotel is serving as the reception and the staff there is really friendly. They also serve decent breakfast. Considering... More

We booked as cheap hotel as possible from Savonlinna and it was summer hotel own by Best Western Spahotel Kasino. The Summerhotel is studen apartments which they rent in summer for customers. Apartment was ok, no big surprises, but TV would have been nice. In Sunday tjere isn't much to do in Savonlinna and we didn't have much entertainment with... More

This is not a hotel: it's a student flat let out at hotel prices in the summer, when accommodation is at a premium in Savonlinna. If one is aware of this, the accommodation is perfectly reasonable - basic but functional. My en-suite flat was spacious and clean, with two single beds, a desk, cupboards and shelving, a fully-functional kitchen with... More

This in really a student's house, very basic. It's only 5 min walk to market plaza and 10 min walk to Castel Olavinlinna. But ok fot one night stand and last minute price was ok. One room with 2 beds (quite new) Sheets and towels, shampoo and one plastic glass. Bathroom is shared, but that was not a problem. Breakfast... More

For Summer Hotel at the Best Western read student accommodation. Luckily the student had vacated the room. Our 115 Euro a night got us a shared bathroom and a small bedroom where the only ventilation was a shoe box sized section, which partially opened, in a triple glazed window. Two appallingly bad night’s sleep reminiscent of Alec Guinness being put... More

Summer Hotel Vuorilinna is next to Best Western Spahotel Casino in Savonlinna. Breakfast is served in Casino. Summer Hotel Vuorilinna is open only on summer time when schools are out. Most of the year it is student dormitory. Rooms in Vuorilinna are small and hot - sun shines into the room almost whole day. Curtains in room are poor and... More

Stayed during the Savonlinna Opera Festival for 136 euros. This is expensive for the quality of the accommodation, but considering the festival in town, slightly understandable. A basic room with kitchenette and fairly old linens, but a large room nonetheless with a large bathroom. Breakfast at the adjacent Best Western Casino complex was good, albeit busy. Parking was an issue... More

Location is okay, closeby railway station. But basically evertthing in Savonlinna is closeby. Room was spacious but without any feeling. More like a student room with kitchen without kitchenware. Beds were not good and pillows had only softness. No wifi, okay not a big issue in a summer holliday resort. Curtains did not shield much from the midsummer sun. Some... More
