welcome inside It can happen that a guest walks in and thinks they have taken a wrong turn. There he stands, somewhat baffled by the absence of a reception desk which usually marks a kind of limit. He might even think that he has ended up in the wrong era and in the home of an eccentric lady from the previous century. A patron of the arts maybe, given that the place is teeming with artwork. However, he soon realises that this is quite real and now, maybe after catching sight of the business-suited men in the restaurant. Either that or the young people at the bar deep in conversation. Sometimes a guest, like the film director, falls so in love with a room (room 412) that he immediately decides to shoot his next film there. Or simply move in for good. Take the example of the entrepreneur who very seriously suggested that his company buy a part of the hotel to give their clients a special and completely unique experience. When asked what he meant by “special”, he answered: just like Thousand And One Nights, only for real. Allow us to introduce our hotel manager: Thomas Petersen. The best way to get to know him and his ideas, including those about the restaurant, is to read the information under the "Legacy" tab. In the course of his many trips through Europe with his father, Thomas Petersen grew to love their both serious and playful approach to fine dining. Also, at the most renowned restaurants there was an unpretentious joie de vivre based on the understanding that it is the guests who are all important! Not to mention the guests’ conversation. Drawn-out food presentations are not always essential. An unforgettable meal consists in equal measure of interesting conversation, joyful laughter, beautiful presentation and surprising ingredients.

We had a nice double room to the pedestrian area - really tastful interior and nice sized design-bathroom. We had another single room to the courtyard which was really small, but also very nice decorated. A real nice place a little away from the louder areas. No own parking, but public within 5mns walk. Drop off of luggage in front of the hotel is possible. Everything convenient, easy and not stressing!

The Dorsia Hotel is a great small hotel in the very center of Gothenburg with a very helpful and friendly staff. The property is decorated in a very artistic fashion and our room and bed were extremely comfortable. A fruit bowl in the room was replenished daily and the breakfast buffet was outstanding with a broad variety of meats, cheese, smoked salmon and herring as well as fresh breads, pastries, eggs, yoghurts, fresh fruits and vegetables and excellent coffee. We felt very much at home there and enjoyed some time with friends in the rooftop bistro as well.

Wonderfully eclectic, great service, wonderful room, staff dressed to the nines, and so welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very special with beautiful antiques everywhere.. a real turn of the century feel, fantastic location and so romantic. Honestly the highlight of my stay in Gothenburg was hanging out at the Dorsia. I don’t think I have ever said that about a hotel before. It is a true fabulous experience

Stayed for one night with a friend, and the hotel has an elegance and charm that reflects its heritage. It is a child free hotel, and for me personally it is a great upside. The room is as one would assume a hotel of this class would offer. The breakfast is pretty good, you have the usual ingredients and the atmosphere is calm and charming.

We visited this hotel with our 3 years daughter to have a cup of coffee in their restaurant. The staff told us that this is a ‘child free’ hotel and we therefore were not welcome! We will never come back here - even without children!! 🤬

You’ll see red and more red at this very unique posh bordello inspired hotel. Breakfast was the most opulent we had in Europe. Guests are all rich and hip. There was a small service snafu and Josephine at the front desk responded with grace, which translated from Swedish was champagne and a sincere and elegant apology. This has got to be one of the most interesting romantic stays in Sweden.

This over-posh is a bit tiresome when you spend ther more than a night. It's too much of a good thing and very oppresive with its purple and dark-red. But: the service is up to the top and the restaurant is really very good (in case you manage to see anything in the dark-red interior and light)

The hotel is stunning. the staff is excellent. I admired the professionalism, graciousness, and warmth of Josephine.Like many Swedish hotels she does everything for checking you in, helping with sightseeing suggestions, carrying bags to the room, and parking your car. The breakfast was simply excellent. The owner was delightful and very helpful too. Man great visit!!!!
