A family owned hotel. At this hotel you really get value for the money. Sure the rooms are not that fancy, but for a price about €100 in the middle of Gothenburg it is really worth the money and they also have electrical charging outside the entre. The breakfast is really great and you really get value for your money. Don't miss this hotel. If you are having a conference they also has the possibility to arrange that.
I stayed here for four nights and am still recovering from the far-too-soft mattress. The hotel itself has a bit of a rundown feel. Hallway carpet is a bit grungy and chipped door not a great first impression. The room itself is fairly spacious and the bathroom is fine but the bed itself is VERY soft to the point where by night 3. I was trying to figure out where to sleep on the floor. I did not get a good night's sleep the entire time and even a few days later I am still quite sore from the experience. I did ask about the bed and was told (remarkably!) that they had all been replaced recently and that in any case the hoitel was fully booked so it would not possible to change rooms. On the positive side, location is great and breakfast was fine.
I was looking for somewhere affordable just a short walk from Chalmers University and ended up staying in this friendly clean updated traditional hotel. Just minutes away from the main streets, a half hour walk to the sea or Botanic Gardens and with a generous breakfast each morning I could not have asked for more. The staff were welcoming when I arrived early for check in after 20+ hour journey and found me a room. There’s a wonderful old school lift up the centre of the original staircase: be prepared to go alone with your suitcase or squeeze in with one friend because that’s all there is room for!
Second visit (first visit in 2018). Good email communication with the hotel beforehand. Friendly reception. Option to skip cleaning for a two-day stay. Decent sized twin room. Street-facing but no noise to speak of. Good beds and pillows. Coffee and tea, with free cake at reception in the afternoon. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Nice to borrow umbrellas on a rainy day. Completive price. Would stay again.
Good location, good services (free good cake and coffee in the lobby, good and complete brekfast. Nice decoration with many arttitisc paintings on the walls Nice Direct access by bus from the airport.
Very good position, very kind people at Reception and comfortable rooms, clean and with inside everything you need. Easy to join from airport, because the bus stop at 100m. Many restaurants around . I'll come back
I stayed for a weekend. I had lovely stay, staff are very kind and I really liked the breakfast. Cosy place, clean room and just in the city centre. I chose primarily for the location when I booked , therefore very satisfied with all. I definitely stay again .
Quite a bit worn here and there, but nevertheless clean and proper. Fancy free and really nice. And with an excellent location a few steps from Götaplatsen. A small-scale, almost cozy atmosphere, to a large degree created by the kind and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds and all amenities you may need for a night or two. No AC though. Breakfast just fine with a variety of cold cuts, cheese, vegetables etc. Scrambled eggs on board - along with meat balls and little Swedish sausages (prinskorv). Lacking is pickled herring - something that really should be on a breakfast table in a Swedish hotel. Especially in Gothenburg - the very center of fish and fishing in Sweden. All in all: very affordable and highly recommended.
Great location in central Göteborg and is easy to access key amenities. Staff are helpful and friendly and able to answer questions about attractions, public transportation, etc. in the city. The breakfast is filling and good although the same day after day, and not great for non-pork eaters (seriously how do Jews and Muslims eat in Sweden other than becoming vegetarian?). Although the rooms aren’t fancy they are clean and well designed and pleasant. The antique elevator is quite amusing (there is a modern one too). Definitely make use of the sauna which is open to individuals and family groups only during the pandemic.
Hotel Lorensberg is definitely the best for us among all the others with the same star. We stayed in the superior double room for two nights. The room is spacious and extremely clean. Ceiling is high and the sound-proof is good, didn't hear any sound from other rooms or the corridor. The staff are helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Jonna and all the receptionists that we've met.
