Detailed Reviews
Cute little hotel that had everything that we have wanted (place to sleep and rest comfortably after spending almost all of the day in the city) for a fair price. The personnel was very nice, helpful and professional especially when recommending places to visit or restaurants to eat. The room equipment was a bit old, however nothing that would make the experience uncomfortable. What could be better were the bathrooms, lacking air freshners and ventilators to filter out the humid air after a shower, however they were also fairly clean. We also really liked the breakfast offered in a cute winter garden situated in the courtyard of the building. We appreciated the complementary tea and coffee as well. The hotel had also great location, couple minutes walk to the center of the city and only about 25 minutes drive by bus from the airport.

A family owned hotel. At this hotel you really get value for the money. Sure the rooms are not that fancy, but for a price about €100 in the middle of Gothenburg it is really worth the money and they also have electrical charging outside the entre.
The breakfast is really great and you really get value for your money.
Don't miss this hotel. If you are having a conference they also has the possibility to arrange that.

The hotel is located just a stone’s throw from Avenyn. They have a few parking places outside (at a cost) but there is ample parking space very near as well. We had a large room with comfortable beds on the 5th floor. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Good wifi. There was a minibar and two comfortable chairs (not so common!) to relax in. Appreciated that you have to use the key card in the elevator, felt safe. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of choices. This hotel is considerably cheaper than the ones located on the actual Aveny itself, and is a very good alternative in my opinion. Quiet despite being on a busy street. Friendly staff. Would recommend and will stay again.

Great location in central Göteborg and is easy to access key amenities. Staff are helpful and friendly and able to answer questions about attractions, public transportation, etc. in the city. The breakfast is filling and good although the same day after day, and not great for non-pork eaters (seriously how do Jews and Muslims eat in Sweden other than becoming vegetarian?). Although the rooms aren’t fancy they are clean and well designed and pleasant. The antique elevator is quite amusing (there is a modern one too). Definitely make use of the sauna which is open to individuals and family groups only during the pandemic.

I was looking for somewhere affordable just a short walk from Chalmers University and ended up staying in this friendly clean updated traditional hotel. Just minutes away from the main streets, a half hour walk to the sea or Botanic Gardens and with a generous breakfast each morning I could not have asked for more. The staff were welcoming when I arrived early for check in after 20+ hour journey and found me a room. There’s a wonderful old school lift up the centre of the original staircase: be prepared to go alone with your suitcase or squeeze in with one friend because that’s all there is room for!

The hotel is very convenient to Gothenburg. 100 meters from the airport bus stop and close to most major tram and bus lines that cross the city. Walking distance to the main museums, Liseberg and the shopping streets and several good restaurants in the same street.
The hotel also offers a good and rich breakfast and a lounge with free tea and coffee (and biscuits) 24 hours a day. You can also buy some light snacks and soft drinks, but they also have a water and ice maker in the lobby and an in-room coffee maker. This way you can start your exploration of Gothenburg fully loaded every morning.
The hotel is located in a former apartment complex. The stairwell even has a small, old elevator with steel housing (there is also a normal, more modern one). Rooms and corridors are spread over three buildings. It is sometimes a bit scary, but all the walls are nicely decorated with rural drawings (on the wallpaper). The breakfast rooms are also spread over different areas, including a conservatory and courtyard garden. The style of the hotel is simple with a slightly modern feel.
The rooms are spacious with ample seating area and two desks. Fridge, fan, television – all the basics for survival. Small wardrobe where you certainly can't store all your clothes. Modern bathroom with good lighting and decent shower. The beds are a little too soft. Although the hotel is located in a busy area, the noise of the street at night is almost non-existent. So we slept pretty well. Even though the room is large, you can also spend the evening in the salon and there are many reading opportunities on the ground floor. A very nice and comfortable experience.

Nice central hotel. Booked in advance -at extra cost- a parking space with car loading. You are then right next to the entrance and the car is full again on departure.
Hotel looks a bit tuggy and old, but when you look closely it is in very good condition. It is clean, bright, quiet and fully equipped.
Beautiful vintage elevator in the stairwell which you should definitely use.
The bathroom in our room was super simple with a shower curtain, but spotless and eg no mold on the sealant edges. Unfortunately, you don't see that much these days..
Beds very comfortable. Three-layer glass, so you can - if necessary - keep the outside world out. Standing fan for when needed (no air conditioning).
Full and tasty breakfast. Everything we felt like (and more) was there. Only the coffee could have been a lot stronger, but that is a taste issue.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I got the number 403, which is very well planned. The room as a whole has everything you need, and downstairs you can always pour yourself water in the lobby. What struck me was the quality and variety of the breakfast food. I was expecting a much more modest diet and I ended up thrilled.
If I happen to be on business in Gothenburg, I'd love to stay at this hotel again.

I stayed here for four nights and am still recovering from the far-too-soft mattress. The hotel itself has a bit of a rundown feel. Hallway carpet is a bit grungy and chipped door not a great first impression. The room itself is fairly spacious and the bathroom is fine but the bed itself is VERY soft to the point where by night 3. I was trying to figure out where to sleep on the floor. I did not get a good night's sleep the entire time and even a few days later I am still quite sore from the experience. I did ask about the bed and was told (remarkably!) that they had all been replaced recently and that in any case the hoitel was fully booked so it would not possible to change rooms. On the positive side, location is great and breakfast was fine.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it helps us to develop and create better experiences. We are sorry for the poor beds. Like my colleague told you, we have just replaced all our beds, but it is difficult to find a bed that fits everyones needs. Most of the time we can change rooms but sometimes when we are fully booked that may not unfortunately be possible. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast buffet and location. You are most welcome back to Hotel Lorensberg and Gothenburg in the future. Best regards, Mikaela Larsson - Hotel Lorensberg

A reasuring smile pointing my husband and I to a room where there was coffee and (delicious) cake welcomed us to the hotel when we arrived soaking wet and exhausted. It was a nice young receptionist that made all the difference for us. She also recommended an Indian restaurant nearby where we had dinner that rainy Saturday, 15th June. We are only sorry we don't remember her name to thank her again.
The hotel is near many attractions but at the same time its street made us feel as locals.
The breakfast area is gorgeous with period wallpaper and a charming conservatory.
The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable.
My husband and I undoubetdly recommend it.
