Nordic Refuge is an elegant and confortable Bed & Breakfast situated in Dalsland, Sweden. The B&B offer 4 large en-suite rooms. Lakes, forests and incredibly beautiful landscapes await for you in Dalsland. Hiking, canoeing or just bathing will be your favorite activities while enjoying the beautiful nature around. Situated in the small village of Fröskog in the heart of Dalsland, Nordic Refuge is housed in a freshly renovated heritage school building from the 30's. Soberly decorated with contemporary and classic Scandinavian furniture, its atmosphere is made of light, quietness and nature. With protecting the environment in mind, we serve local and organic breakfast and use mostly ecological products. The blooming artists' cultural center of Fengersfors Not quite ("a parrot in the pine forests") is a stone's throw away and the aqueduc of Håverud with the Dalsland's canal, the area's major attraction, is just at the end of a winding road.
The B&B is wonderful. All the details are thought out, from the sustainability of the service and organic products at breakfast, to activities to connect with nature. Anne and François will attend you with a smile and show you the best bike routes (you can rent them there), Top-rated places for coffee with kanelbullen and Top-rated lakes for a dip or a canoe. Highly recommended the package for dinner by the lake. If you like nature and disconnect a few days from busy city life, this place is perfect. I'm already planned to come back!

Fint renoverade, stora rum i en vacker gammal skolbyggnad. Retro stil. Trevligt bemötande av värden och mycket god ekologisk frukost! I närheten finns Dalslands aktiviteter, Baldersnäs herrgård, Larssons lanthandel och ”Not quite”.

a really nice b&b (may i say a little gem ?) in an old swedish village school - very elegantly restored by anne and françois - we had a very spacious room with balcony and huge bathroom... this b&b is an excellent departure for hiking to nature reserves nearby, unspoiled nature, lakes, the silence of dalsland, the 'pilgrimsleden', fishing, canoeing - all what you can think of to escape a hectic life - excellent price for the quality - i recommend it without doubt
