Stayed here after a long ride from Novi Sad. Reception staff very approachable, kindly found us somewhere to store our bikes. Pleasant room, clean, comfortable and air conditioned.Quiet location easy walk to restaurants on Danube. Breakfast was limited (probably due to low season). Overall a good place to stay.

This hotel had all the comforts one needs--quiet, a/c, and wifi all at very good price. Helpful staff and very nice breakfast. A bit of a distance from the city center, but cabs were easy to find. Would recommend overall.

It is located in center of Zemun in an old building. It looks somewhat cheap with furnishing, but it is clean, located in quiet quarter. Staff is helpful. Room is large and beds are ok. I have better beds at home, but I slept well in this hotel. The location is perfect when transiting through Belgrade. I had a day between flilghts and airport is easily accessible from Zemun, but Belgrade city is not far. Actually, hotel is next to the Zemun promenade at Danube river, where all reataurants and bars are located. You can walk all way long to the Belgrade Branko bridge.

Fantastic historic building. If you are looking for a purpose built new "IKEA" style hotel, look elsewhere. This hotel is full of charm and character. Of course it could use a little renovation, but location is good, staff friendly, restaurant beautiful. Good value for money. Don't expect 4 stars in 3 star hotel and your reviews will be less critical.

This hotel is ok but not excellent : the bedroom and bathroom are not very clean, the breakfast is very simple, everything is a little bit old ... But it's quiet, and the personnel is very nice and helpful.

Very poor level of cleanliness!!! Within the first few hours in the room myself and my husband experienced the following: used bathroom, hair on the floor, broken armchair, torn bed sheets/towels, spider webs on the ceiling on top of the bed...what more can you experience in that short time??? Hotel management definitely should revise their housekeeping standards!!! Not to ruin our weekend break in Belgrade we had to find very quickly alternative accommodation. After horrific experience, on top of everything, we were charged full room rate including breakfast!!! Although you can not expect much from a 3 start hotel. Just across the road for the same value of money you can find Villa Akacija with the incomparable service and facilities.

I was lucky enough to have my first visit to Serbia / Belgrade made perfect with a 2 week stay at the Hotel Skala.. I love the location..The markets the coffee shops everything.. The staff work very hard to make everything enjoyable...and are so friendly... I do not believe any negative criticism is right as I am NOT qualified to judge,.... I got what I paid for. Maybe a little more but not less.. I come from a very touristic place and this is a par to anywhere.. Again. You get what you pay for...I certainly did...

The only good thing of this hotel is the price. The location is not really so close to the Danube. Room - old furniture; old fixtures in the bathroom - nothing is 100% clean. Very big noise inside from some party which was in the restaurant (finshed by 2:00 in the morning). Breakfast - filter coffee reheated = horse piss. Other things were OK. Parking - they do not have own parking lot, you can park on the street, if you are lucky enough. Conclusion: this is not the place to rest - this is a place to stay over the night after a party in the city.

We stayed two nights in the hotel with friends. The staff was really helpfull and friendly. They let us check in earlier. Both rooms were nice and clean. One con is that one of the rooms looked to the street was above a neon advertisment wich was a little disturbing. We booked in the last minute but we got a triple room and a suit for the price of a standard room. The bathroom was a little old, the shower should be fixed.. Apart from that the rooms and the hotel was clean and looked really nice. The breakfast was good, they have the basic things. Very reasonable price. I would recommend it!

The Skala has seen for sure better days. The Lobby/Bar area looks nice but the more you come closer to the rooms, the worse it becomes. The entry door has meanwhile a look of a field barn. The standard rooms are extrem small (you lucky to be able walking around your bed) and have a lot of issues: in my room the window hat a crack, the toilett wasn't only dripping - no water was running (!), the sink was cracked many times and the wooden floor in the room changed already the colour of leakages. Cleanness in the hotel fits together with the look ... The brekfast was a disaster: Everything that should be hot was at ambient temperature - coffee, eggs and sausages. Everything from cheap quality. Coffee was black but the taste has nothing to do with coffee! The so called Orange juice was something yellow artificial... No, all over no good choice. Only the friendly staff increased the quality.
