Lucky us. When we arrived Selina checked us in and upgraded us to a room w a great room. This never happens to us. The room was great. Two double beds. Plenty of room. Good linens, plenty of towels (and loo paper too). And you can open the window a crack so no stuffy room headache in the morning. Seriously. We have been here before (18 years ago omg). It was excellent then and perfect location now w Central Station close by as are the tram (to get to Skansen) and public transport. Lots of shops are around the corner and Gamla Stan only 10 min walk away. Yes location is key and it is quiet. I have to mention Selina again. She was so cheerful, friendly, helpful and positive checking us in. Why would you stay anywhere else?
In the heart of stockholm, next to Gamlastan, amazing hotel .Loved it every minute.Amazing view, staff very kind. They upgraded our room for free.Next to metro ,central train and bus station, its the ideal place to live when in stockholm
Very nice hotel which is just across the road from the train station. The breakfast was great, there is a nice bar to relax and has an excellent gym. Rooms are very comfortable, quite and excellent wifi.
The Sheraton Stockholm may be a challenge for some customers for one simple reason that can’t be helped: it is a large conference-focused hotel that came of age at a time when being big equaled being grand. If you need a boutique experience with locally-sourced niceties at the bar and throughout the property, this is not the place. That said... Recently I stayed here for four nights. Here are a few takeaways that I hope are helpful: 1. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and modern. The housekeeping staff were courteous and professional. When I was jet-lagged and slept in the first morning, no one banged on the door to clean the room. They waited patiently, which I really appreciated. 2. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the train station and maybe 3 minutes walk across a bridge to the old town. Additionally, it is 2 minutes to a major local shopping street and maybe 5 minutes to the Opera House. Location, location, location. 3. If your stay includes breakfast, it is very good. There is a full spread of everything from traditional eggs and bacon to fresh fruits, cheeses, crepes, breads, juices, etc. I found the service at breakfast to be attentive. 4. For Bonvoy members, the lounge on the 7th Floor has a nice spread. Members (and their kids) could easily make a meal from the offerings during the evening hours which are roughly 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm. 5. The bar here makes good drinks that are priced in line with Stockholm. They also hold special nights (such as a gin and tonic night on Thursdays) to make it feel a bit more unique/personable. 6. The hotel has a reasonably-sized gym/workout facility that is comfortable, clean, and usually not crowded. 7. I utilized the concierge to assist with booking a tour, as well as a couple of locally popular restaurants. She was amazingly courteous, and she helped me get into a popular spot by calling the restaurant directly to check for cancellations when it was “full” on line. You may find more “luxurious”, “ultra-modern”, or “boutique” properties in Stockholm, if that is what you need. However, the Sheraton really brings it A game and has a location that is second-to-none. I would stay here again for sure.…
The location is excellent within walking distance to many places you want. It is just a block away from the train station or bridges to other islands. The breakfast was included in our stay and it was always very good. The rooms were quiet and ours had a nice view. We did a number of walking tours and the hotel was ideally located for that connection. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
