We booked two nights for two couples in August before a Baltic cruise. We found the hotel charming (the photo on the site appears to be our room!), with beams running through the room. For Americans who aren't used to European rooms, things like having a quilt with cover only and no sheets, and lack of washcloths, are a bit... More

Took us a while to locate but after when we got our bearings, all's easy thereafter to move around walking or in metro on the main road nearby.. Excellent front desk personnel, all ready to help....sorry didn't noted the names. Spacious room, love the wooden flooring of bygone days but need more cleanliness in the housekeeping please. Enjoyed the breakfast.....tho'... More

Even though we had booked a room for 3 people, I was surprised to hear that there was an additional fee of 400 Krona per night for a separate bed for our child (reception said they assumed he'd be sleeping in the same bed as us!). The bed sheets were barely sufficient to cover each bed and frequently became unravelled... More

For North Americans, staying in a hotel, that was built in the 19th century, gives you a funny feeling. However, rest assured - this is a modern building. Breakfast is out of this world - where, in North America, do you get 3 types of herring, for breakfast? The location is great - a quiet side street, but not far... More

Brilliant little hotel in the heart of Stockholm. It's slightly old fashioned but comfortable and friendly. The food in the restaurant is varied and interesting, best Skaggin Toast ever. This was my third visit and won't be the last. It's a perfect refuge from a busy schedule but also a great base for exploring Stockholm. Well worth a visit.

We were a bit concerned with this hotel from reading so many negative reviews, but we were a bit surprised that, at least in our case, we had a splendid stay there for 6 nights and never heard anybody complainning about their rooms, either. Friendly and knowledgeable personnel day and night. We would like to thank Viktor, Henry, Emil and... More

The location is good. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the area and a T-station in walking distance. Very service-minded and friendly staff. The room was cosy, but very dark and the were no storage space. OK for few nights but not for a longer stay.

This hotel is not very central - about a 20 minute walk to Gamla Stan, alternatively 2 metro stops or plenty of bus stops nearby going everywhere, including the port. Breakfast is generous and of good quality and we had plenty of space in the room for 3 people. I think it was a good choice for the 5 nights... More

In July we were in Stockholm and stay at Hansson for 4 days. The hotel is well located between two metro station in a quiet location. The hotel is rated as 4 stars but after our experience it has barely 3 stars...one wing of the hotel, and the renovated wing almost 4 stars... The reception staff is helpful and professional.... Our experience at this hotel was satisfactory bordering on 'good'. To put it in simple terms, this hotel is nothing special. However, this was exactly what we expected; and incidentally weren't bothered. The breakfast experience was satisfactory and the range on offer was ok. The hotel staff were quite disconnected and some had more of a personality, but more of... More

Staying in Vasastan

Neighborhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
