Just enjoyed a weekend break at Hotel Rival and I have to say that I was really delighted. Quite a decent price, really well located to walk/ferry to some of the main tourist attractions, new and nicely appointed and very friendly staff. There are a few bakeries nearby to indulge in Fika too. Pretty much all you could ask for and a few things you wouldn't expect (extensive pillow menu, movies and music in the rooms). If I had any gripes, the rooms were very hot but you could open the windows to address that. Breakfast was served as a buffet which is unusual in these times of Covid but sanitiser bottles were present to help mitigate those risks. Overall though, I was impressed and will return.

From the moment we arrived up until our departure the staff could not have been more, pleasant, helpful and charming. From Anton greeting us at the Reception, the ladies serving us breakfast and Paul the Night Porter. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, very comfortable and a welcoming retreat after a busy day in the city.

I can really recommend this hotel. The location is great, in the heart of the south central part of the city. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and sites just around the corner. I can also recommend their brunch buffet, and the breakfast is also great. The staff is friendly and helpful, with 24 hour room service. Need another pillow or duvet? No problem, just lift the phone and you have it delivered to the room in a minute. No extra charge. I always choose a superior room or better when I'm booking a room. They come with a complement of a cosy bathrobe, slippers, and a selection of music and film on CD and DVD. The one "negative" thing I can say about this hotel is their "standard" rooms. They can be a bit dark and "plain". So, book a superior room or better (a superior room is only slightly more expensive that the standard room). All in all a great place to stay. They also have a show room on the ground floor (an old cinema) where you can see great performances from a variety of the best artists Sweden has to offer (you have to buy tickets for it).
