I booked a double room in this ship hotel because of the good rating on several portals. Unfortunately, the only good things were the area of the ship, which is very close and walkable to the old Town of Stockholm, the view and the good working wifi connection. The rest was horrible: 1) The bar and Rezeption area plays very... More

Impeccably clean bathroom and showers. Keep in mind that it IS a boat and the roams are a bit cramped, but you'll enjoy. The Wifi slows down when lots of folks are using it. I had a room on the dock side but the window was translucent, thus very little in the way of a view. I don't know if... More

Three friends and I stayed in the 6 berth cabin for three nights recently and had a great time. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a Scandinavian self-service buffet which was good quality and plentiful. For a boat, there was plenty of space too. My only issue was that there were no curtains (or equivalent)... Great location, clean shared showers and lavatories, and spacious shared kitchen space make up for small (yet cosy and comfortable) sleeping rooms. Able to safely store food in community freezers and fridge. Stayed four nights on newest of the three floating hotel/hostels. Guest ages ranged from twenty to sixty plus. Definitely recommend.

This place is great and cheap for its location. It gives you a view on cityhall and Gamla Stan. The rooms were good and clean, I had a single stay room on boat 3. There was a shared bathroom and there were enough showers and toilets on board. It had 3 decks so you could go on another deck when... More

We stayed at Rygerfjord for only two nights, as our trip to Stockholm was a short one. Our hotelroom/cabin was fine, but small - as you would expect a cabin on a boat to be. I would, however, point out that I could not stand straight in the bathroom, because of the low ceilings. I am 187 cm tall. It... More

This was actually my second visit to the 'Rygerfjord', but as much as I enjoyed the food for breakfast, I did not enjoy the breakfast which I found rather mediocre. It contained the most basic, but that is also it. If one wishes, all three boats/rebuilt barges had plenty of outdoor space, and on the original 'Rygerfjord', one could enjoy... More

The Rygerfjord is made up of three (one main and two smaller boats), very conveniently located and just about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station that connects directly to the airport. It offers lovely views of Stockholm, from the city hall across the water to GamlaStan, the old town, to the right, which is also about a ten... More

The location is great for a short trip, the ship provides a nice ambience and alternative to normal hostel/hotels. The rooms are a bit small and with bunks and just a small table and one armchair - but if you're traveling with a friend or partner this shouldn't be a problem :) It's actually quite lovely for a short stay.... We were initially apprehensive that the ship's location was far from everything, but after exploring we found were only a fifteen minute walk from central Stockholm and that within ten minutes we were in a very trendy part of the city with shops, bars and restaurants. After expressing our concerns we were upgraded to an upper deck cabin on one... More

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighborhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
