If your looking for an inexpensive hostel/hotel in central Stockholm on an island then look no further. Staff are great and the breakfast is fantastic. Excellent free Wifi connection. We would definitely return on our next visit.

A lovely oasis in a busy city, with your own beach, parks to walk around in. The prison cell I shared (hostel 4 women room) with 3 others was surprisingly warm and the whole place was so clean and quiet! The breakfast kept me going till well after lunchtime! Fair walk into the centre of Stockholm but ferries and metro... More

We've stayed there twice, and we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room, the former-prison's very good resto, the helpful staff, and the quiet yet central location. Your choice of room should be the family-fun cell with a queen-size bed, big TV and bunk-bed. Yes, the wifi works just fine, even with 3ft walls separating you from the... More

Arrived by car plenty of free parking. Nice helpfull check in staff very helpfull. We had a great meal in the restaurant on site. After sleeping in a former cell with bunkbeds! We had a great breakfast out sides in the Sun. Rented so bikes to explore Stockholm maybe they should invest in a few bikes with gears due to... More

I stayed in a two-bed private room with an en-suite in January for a few week nights. The hostel was easy to find, not too far from the metro line but in a nice and quiet location. It was picturesque. Our room was well furnished and the hostel is so interesting, being a former prison. The breakfast was amazing. Like,... More

I've stayed one night in the hostel. It was very clean and calm - I enjoyed this very much. It is placed at the beautiful island Langholmen where you can nicely go for a walk. Although I had booked a bad in a shared dorm, I got a private room for the same price which was very nice. You can... More

Langholmen is a former prison and the rooms in the hostel are actually former prison cells. Basic rooms but tidy and practical. The premises also hosts a museum and the rooms are factually located within the museum. Breakfast is great as are the location and atmosphere. Close to the subway and in a very green park area. Parking space is... More

The Langholmen hostel is definitely something to see. I was a four-bed dorm which is located in the museum part of the hostel, so there is plenty to see. The rooms are a little cold in winter, and have very small windows, so not much sunlight. The showers and restrooms were clean, but I can imagine that they will get... More

Decent hostell, small rooms but good for a citytrip... short walk to metro Hornstull and quick to centre. But for this price you can get beter in Stockholm. Small bathrooms but no problems. So decent for short stay with friends or backpackers

This is a great hostel because of its location near the city center but as well close to a nice forested area that is great for running, walking, hiking, etc. What was really cool about it is that it is an old prison and part museum! Kind of creepy but unique. What I wanted to highlight is the staff. I... More

Staying in Hornstull & Langholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Hornstull & Langholmen
If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.
