This hotel is in a very convenient location. It is visible when emerging from the rail station airport transfer. It is a short walk to a good departmemt store and also not far from the Royal Palace and Old Town. The room was a little small but we were told the hotel was busy. Breakfast was served next door and that room was a popular resturent in the evenings although we had no trouble booking in the morning for that evening. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. A ll in all and excellent plcae to stay in a very good city.

We lived in a room with balcony which I highly recommend. The best part of the experience was the staff (both hotel and restaurant) which had an uncanny ability to know what we wanted, showing that they make an effort of seeing their customers needs. One thing that could need improvement though, that I always judge a hotel by, is the showers. By todays standard they should install rain showers (ceiling showers) instead of just an adjustable handle. It makes the superior room we ordered feel not so superior.

Ok, the rooms are very small but they are well designed. Although we could not keep our suitcases open, there was room to put clothes etc, then store your cases away in the room. The bathroom is also tiny but the shower doors cleverly push in to the wall to give plenty of space when not using the shower. It also had one of the best water pressures we have had. There is no AC, which we have found to be the case throughtout our Scandinavian trip. It is something they will need to look into as the climate heats up. There was a fan though, which was really needed. The staff are very helpful and genuinely nice to deal with. We found the breakfast to be one of the best so far. The outside area was so nice to have your morning coffee and breaky. The hotel was quiet and clean. The central location allowed us to walk almost everywhere, although the hotel is just off the busy street. If you can manage the small rooms, you should enjoy your stay here.

Freys Hotel is located conveniently very close to the Main Railway Station and Arlanda Express, almost across the street. . The Freys sign above the front door hinted at the 80’s theme when the hotel was founded, but the era wasn’t featured that much indoors. Maybe in the colours and patterns of the room interior, which in my eyes looked hideously tasteless.
Breakfast was good, although a bit crowded at 9 a.m. It was served at downstairs restaurant Belgobaren, which is specialized in Belgian food and beer and looked popular in the evening.
The best part of Freys is its central location, at walking distance from the major sights; Old Town, Moderna Museet, National Gallery, shopping, etc.
It’s an ok hotel, specially if you can find special offer or a package price around 80-90 € or less.

Freys Hotel first opened in 1989 (celebrated 30 years last year) however we do not strive to have 80¨s themed interior. Sorry if you had gotten that impression. We stayed at Freys for 5 nights while sightseeing in Stockholm. Aside from its excellent location, we were terribly disappointed at arrival, during the stay and even upon departure.
The hotel's website contains heavily edited pictures to mislead the visitors into believing this is a fresh, hip and well maintained hotel.
In reality the hotel is in desperate need of some renewal; the carpets, the drapes and the walls permeate an old stench that is hard to pinpoint, the old, leaking bathroom shower and vanities reveal there has been quite a while anything was done here.
The breakfast buffet contains a variety of foods. However, the quality is very poor and corresponds to a run down school cantine rather than a 4*hotel.
The staff at the reception must have called out sick the day there was training on how to treat and talk to the guests.
There is absolutely zero consideration towards visitors who traveled all day and arrive exhausted. Displaying such an arrogance, it seemed as if we were bothering the staff by just checking in/out or asking some basic questions.
It should also be noted the bar does not look like it's being portrayed in the pictures. It is extremely dark and unwelcoming in there; even at breakfast they would not bother putting on some decent lights. At evening the bar is literally overrun by locals taking advantage of the happy hour, it is not a relaxing place to sit down and unwind after a long day of sightseeing.
To recap, we loved seeing Stockholm , however we highly regretted staying at Freys as the treatment by their staff, the terrible stench, the sub par food, the lack of a nice place to relax in the evening and the mediocre rooms really took a bit away from our enjoyment and our well deserved vacation we had planned for quite some time.
To the management- please do not bother responding with your generic "we are sorry to hear about your experience".
While there we asked to speak to management about one particular issue, to which your staff responded by giving us the Frey's business card with info@freys Email address and advised us to write. This is laughable, unprofessional and highly insulting to a paying customer with a valid complaint.
Rather invest those five minutes into staff training, they desperarely need it to ensure that at least your future guests feel welcome and appreciated.

We stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel. The room was immaculate, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were so comfortable! Breakfast is included, which we always love as we can then get our days started without having to think too much about how to get that first cup of coffee and something to eat! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do. Most conveniently, since we were entering and exiting Stockholm through the airport in Arlanda, the hotel is only steps away from the Arlanda Express stop. Literally, step out of the front door of the hotel, and look right up the street - you can see the entrance to the Arlanda Express.
We had to leave early on our last morning, and the woman who prepared the breakfast told us that she would open for us a half hour earlier so that we'd be able to eat before leaving. So wonderful! She was so accommodating and sweet.
unfortunately, because of our schedule, we were unable to take advantage of the sauna, but it was definitely great to know it was there. I'm sorry we couldn't use it - with the anxiety of wondering if our flight was going to be cancelled or the border closings preventing us from returning home, we could have really used the relaxation of a sauna!

Visited Freys Hotel for a one night during a business trip. Firstly, what a great location! Just near the busy Drottinggatan on a quiet side street, a metro stop in the front of the hotel entrance. I was welcomed by a friendly lad in the reseption. Next surprise was a size of my room and bathroom - both really spacious. Very clean and tidy as well. Very comfortable bed and extra points for a Nespresso coffee machine in room what allows you enjoy a really good coffee. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but nothing to whine about either. Very good price and quality ratio plus the perfect location will make me visit Freys Hotel again, for sure!

Hotel is literally across the road from the train station, the Arlanda Express runs constantly and you buy tickets from yellow machines easily in the Airport. It is direct to central station in 18 minutes.
The hotel is a historic building and has kept its charm and character, The staff were friendly and helpful and checking in was easy.
The room was on the small side but was clean and comfortable, I'm not going to pretend it's 5* or anything....the decor is playing to the vintage to be generous, electronics are not new and the rooms are very basic. Biggest drawback was having no safe so had to carry valuables with us at all times. Like most hotels now, a double is 2 single beds pushed together and separate quilts, pillows were small also. Door keys are actual keys which should give you a good image of the place.
Breakfast was exceptional with a wide variety of dietary requirements, it's held in the attached Belgian beer restaurant so if you like your beer then this is the place for you.
Location is central but it's difficult considering Stockholm is lots of islands. Most attractions are walking distance however Drottningholm Palace is a £20 Uber ride. The Sky View is also a cab ride but most are an easy reach.
Now that your expectations are set correctly I wish you a pleasant stay.

We stayed for four nights. It is across the street from Central station and where the Hop On and Hop off buses stop. The front desk was always very helpful. The room is European size but still met all our requirements. Beds were comfortable and extra pillows were in the open closet. It had a fridge. We were on the 7th. floor overlooking the courtyard and rooftops was no problem. It looked okay. The bathroom is compact with shower doors that fold away to leave more room. There was was plenty of hot water. It was quiet with no street noise from traffic or neighbours. The only noise we had was from road reconstruction outside the hotel which was beyond their control. The breakfast served was plentiful in variety from cold meats, cereals, pastries and hot food. The only issue I had was the coffee which really didn't taste like coffee at all. The breakfast area serves as a Belgian Restaurant in the afternoon and evening. We ate their one evening and it was very good .We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel.

Situated a few steps away from the Central station and Arlanda express terminal, and within walking distance of the shopping district and old town, the location was perfect with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were always friendly and so helpful. The hotel is in a historical building so the rooms are all a little bit different in size and decoration. We stayed on 3 separate occasions so had 3 different, but charming and well appointed rooms. The Breakfast selection is good, but in the evenings the single restaurant (which is also a famous Belgian beer bar) fills up quickly, so make sure you book a table in advance. Overall a super hotel and highly recommended. We will return!

Dear Susan,
Thank You for your question. The road construction is going on at Vasagatan. This road is around the corner from the Hotel entrance and only rooms on the 6th and 7th (two top floors) floors of the Hotel face this direction. So far we have not had many complaints of noice and this section is scheduled to finish by April 2020 according to the town of Stockholm.

In our Superior Room Plus we had 2 twin beds plus a Chaise Lounge which was comfortable. When we booked it was included in the cost of the room. The rooms were a good size for 3 adults. When I had any queries I emailed hotel direct who were very helpful.
