Upfront I'll say that we were travelling from Oslo to Stockholm by train, then tried to book a Hotel. We were on holiday & had no idea the Europa Soccer Cup Final was to be the day after we arrived in Stockholm. Consequently many hotels were booked out & even 'live' as I was booking through normal hotel booking websites,...

We stayed at Birger Jarl for three nights in May 2017. The rooms are small in my opinion. The front desk folks are very friendly and helpful. It was our first trip to Sweden and we were apprehensive about getting vegetarian food. They have a bar at the lobby that has an excellent vegetarian Burger (Halloumi Burger!). The folks at the...

The Birger Jarl is a lovely well situated comfortable hotel in Stockholm. Clean, small but well equipped room it was as they say in Sweden "lagom" - just right!! Very easy to get into the main city centre - its the Radmansgata station just a couple of stops to T-Centralen and you're in the heart of the city. A very...

I spent two nights in this hotel during a business trip to Stockholm. Due to the last moment reservation I had to book what remained available: a junior suite for 300€ per night. The room was old, with blinds that only partially sheltered the room, which in May means waking up at 5:30 am, with no possibility of better shutters....

I enjoyed a quiet time here in a budget single room. It was clean and well presented. It was walkable to all central attractions within 30 minutes along well used safe streets with many good restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. The complimentary breakfast was great and with many choices to satisfy most people's expectations with several bread...

It was definitely not spectacular! But the view was amazing! I was told when I arrived that I had yet to pay, so of course I payed again. As soon as I had wifi I checked to make sure that I did infact pay. They charged me twice and the issue wasn't resolved till days later when they returned my...

A friend and I stayed in this hotel for two nights as a city break. As everyone is saying location is good, metro just down the road or it really is only a 15 min walk to centre. The hotel breakfast is really good, lots of choice and good quality. The negatives would definitely be the room, very very sparse,...

Our reservation included a small room for two with 140cm wide double bed and a buffet breakfast. Our room was a good value for the money, it was clean and modern. The breakfast was very good and it was a good start for the day. The staff was helpful and we recieved an extra blanket immediately when asking. The hotel...

Overall a nice hotel, rooms are clean and comfortable though small. Breakfast is quite good, service is nice and building is relatively close to the city center. In an expensive city like stockholm definitely and option to consider

Staying in Vasastan

Neighborhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
