What I liked: Stallmästargården is a very good place to stay in with its fabulous location, just outside the hustle and bustle of Stockholm. If you have energy, you can walk all the way to Hagapark's Copper Tent, Fjärilhuset, or to Bellevue Park on the other side, watch and feed the ducks, swans in the water, and eat in the popular Stallmästargården Restaurant. The building is from the 1800's but its history dates back to 1630's. The rooms have all details thoroughly thought of. Modern bathroom, iron and ironing board, safe, fan all inside the cabinet, TV can be moved to whichever part of the room you may be, minibar, nice new towels, good toiletries, bed is comfy. My only complaint and of course it is very personal, the pillows are too soft for my taste. The Stallmästargården seal is in the bathroom door, mat, framed notes re use of facilities. I am impressed. Staff friendly. Dinner and breakfast we had were both appreciated. If I may recommend something, it might be nice (for those interested) to have a little book of the history of the place and its connection to Haga Park. You don't just offer accommodation and food, you also have history!…
Great location in Vasastaden close to the Karolinaska Hospital complex. Free and simple parking. Well kept very traditional building mass. Good restaurant. Good rooms. Only negative is that the city is building a major traffic junction close by thus can be found complicated to find the way if coming by car. Friendly staff.
This hotel is a very nice place with comfortable beds, countryside environment (but walking distance to the city), full minibar with good prices, a super breakfast and a very reasonable price. The bad thing is the huge construction site next to the hotel, the cheaper room you get the more you see of it! Still worth a visit if you’re in town!
Great location in a beautiful park and on the Bay. Wonderfully, authentically Swedish place. Comfortable and great design. Choose a suite if you need more space. 20-min. Bus ride to downtown. Approx. 10 minute walk to bus and approx. 20 minute walk to Metro.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful old wooden building overlooking the lake at Haga Park. We were fortunate to be allocated a room facing a pretty garden with our own patio furniture (we were upgraded to a deluxe room because of our Bonvoy status) - some rooms could be affected by the metro extension construction work that is taking place nearby. The room was furnished with very calm colours, fine quality bed linen, pillows & duvets. We had a good sized bathroom with marble tiles, a bathtub, toweling robes and Orla Keily toiletries. We enjoyed having a kettle so we could make a cup of tea and enjoy it outside on our patio in the sunshine ! Note the room was quite warm in late August and we needed the windows open (no A/C). Breakfast was buffet style with a wide variety of choices - we enjoyed the Swedish fish dishes, cheese & bread on our second morning. We also eat outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. The public areas of the hotel are very traditional Swedish and there are intimate historic private dining rooms. We had dinner in the hotel dining room with pre-drinks on the terrace next to the historic pavilion with views of the lake & the park. The menu was small offering some excellent local dishes such as Chanterelle mushrooms in cheese sauce, smoked shrimps, reindeer, mushroom risotto. The restaurant was softly lit and comfortable with quality tableware and glasses - all very romantic. Odenplan train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We walked around Haga park, a large parkland around a lake with interesting historical features : Echo temple, “Copper” tents and the Gustav III pavilion.…
