Scandic Hasselbacken has so much going for it, with a beautiful old building and the glorious Djurgården park which surrounds it. You're almost on the water, with its grand views of Stockholm, and steps from the lovely, quirky, Nordic Museum, as well as Skansen, the Vasa Museum, the Gröna Lund amusement park and the ABBA Museum. Nearby buses and trams... More

This nice little hotel on the island of Djurgården is, in fact, walking distance from many of Stockholm's main sights. While being practically bucolic. In summer, you can actually swim in the Baltic minutes from the hotel, and you can walk under century old trees to relax from the bustling city. A little public transport ferry takes you to the... First of all, the hotel is in excellent location for the families - just next to the Skansen, where our toddler was absolutely ecstatic to play. In general the hotel is fine, however I have two not very favorable comments. I was travelling alone with my child - tired, with a big suitcase in one hand, stroller in the second,... More

Dear Guest. We are sorry about how we addressed you when you arrived to our hotel. Unfortunately we do not have a bellboy or valet that can help you with your luggage. It was not our intention to make you feel unwelcome or disappointed. We hope you had a nice stay in Stockholm and please feel free to contact us... More

I think this hotel would have been magnificent in its heyday but unfortunately not anymore. It is a shame but it has been left rather neglected and needs upgrading. With a little bit of money it could once again be fabulous. We were travelling as a couple for the weekend and got a good deal from Booking.com. We tend not... More

Dear Guest. Thank you for your review of Scandic Hasselbacken. As you write we are very popular with families during summer and weekend due to the fact that we are very close to Tivoli Gröna Lund, Abba The Museum, Skansen and Junibacken. If you ever come back to Stockholm with kids then you know whee to stay. More

We chose this hotel for price, location and family-friendliness. Our room was big and the breakfast buffet, as always, excellent. The play-room was a big hit with both our 4-year old and the 1-year old, and the tram stop 200 metres away took us to the centre in a few minutes. There's also a ferry to Slussen which is part... One of the rooms we booked was unavailable at the last minute due to an electrical fault. Although highly inconvenient, the staff on duty did organise a replacement hotel and taxis back and forward, so under the circumstances it was a reasonable soluiton, although an alternative hotel much closer would have been better (we were offered Clarion Skanstull on the... Dear Adam. We apologize for the problems with your room upon arrival. We tried to find a replacement hotel closer but unfortunatetly there were no other hotels with free rooms closer to us. We hope to see you at Scandic Hasselbacken another time. More

I stayed here for a wedding, and via email was told we would receive a discount. Our rate was more expensive, by around £40 (GBP) per night. The room had stains on the bed cushions, there were lots of hairs in our bed and in the bathroom. The bathroom glass shelf was so dirty, the guest before us had written... More

We got a "family standard" room that is advertised to sleep up to 4 persons. When the couch is pulled out, four can sleep, but there is barely any floor space left - nearly the entire room is taken up by the beds. There are tiny closets that can hold a few shirts and a tiny desk. In all other... More

Dear Michael. We are glad you enjoyed our great breakfast och location. Our Standard Family Rooms are 19 square meters in size. We recommend you to book a Family Superior for your next visit. These rooms are much larger and accommodate your family better. We hope to welcome you back to us soon again! More

Neighborhood Profile
Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.
