On the positive side, location is excellent and central to any business or tourist needs in Stockholm. Staff are friendly and responsive, and the breakfast buffet is good. Nespresso machines in the room, mattresses comfortable enough. Prices are decent for this part of town. But...the property itself is meh...at best. The front entrance smells badly of mildew and that sets the tone. Bedrooms are decently spacious but poorly designed -- there's almost no lighting in the bedroom except for tiny bedside spot lights. No way to read in bed without a flashlight. No drawers to unpack into. Inadequate shelf space in the bathroom and the sink set up blocks what should otherwise be counter space. Towels are coarse. Furniture is dated and worn. I think they are building a new hotel next door. I hope so, this one should be retired/ renovated. Would not recommend, suspect you can do better for the money in the same part of town. It's not the staff's fault, they are working hard. Ownership, however, can and ought to do better.

Great location but with a lot of buts…… Everything is small, the lifts, beds, bathrooms, breakfast room….. small shower, hand basin too low, awkward size due to large faucet. Only hotel I’ve stayed at where there is no individual room Aircon. Room was too hot so had to ask for lighter duvet but still too hot. They gave us a noisy toy fan that made little difference. Can’t open windows as too noisy outside. Bed very small. We booked a Superior double room. No tea making facilities in room. We came from Prague and had a cheaper room that had everything, this room was a big step down in quality but at a much higher room price. They had no espresso coffee available at breakfast. I don’t recommend.

If you're looking for a good night's sleep, Elite Plaza is NOT the hotel for you. Even in a 'quiet' part of the hotel, food trucks arrived daily at 5.30am, clattering a d making much noise. Friday & Saturday nights the hotel bar played booming dance music till 2am! Staff were helpful and the breakfast had great choices.

Almost 30 degrees C outside which means a very warm room. But we had a table fan that cooled quite well. The staff is really friendly. The room was clean and quiet but smal. The breakfast really good. I find the location being a bit out of the way. We had our window to the back and our mornings started early with loud bangs and noice from the deliveries to and from the hotel

We upgraded to a deluxe room with separate livingroom and bedroom areas. Coffee and tea with kettle, iron and board, safe and nice linens and bedding. Windows open but no air conditioning. Our "view" was into a courtyard and a vacant building across the way. This did make for a quiet location. In the attached diagram, our rooms are shown with a red dot only two deluxe rooms per floor. Breakfast was amazing, hot and cold dishes, a variety of incredible breads, various herring dishes as well as cheese and cold cuts. Be sure to try their jams and marmalade as well as the ginger shot. Only drawback was the shower. You had to be very careful not to flood the whole bathroom when showering. We learned to adjust after the first experience!

This hotel has a good location and that’s the best you can say. They have a bar/night club on the ground floor that plays very loud and heavy rock music. If you have a room on the first floor you will not sleep. The noise and vibrations reverberate through the hotel. The staff are not concerned. The rooms are small and have no air conditioning. If you have a room at the front you can’t open the windows because of the noise of the traffic. Maybe there are good rooms here. I haven’t found them in a few visits. We are forced to stay here due to corporate arrangements. It wouldn’t be my choice otherwise.

I’ve just got back from a two night stay at this hotel. I selected the hotel due to its central location and walking distance from most of the sites within Stockholm. It’s about a 20 - 30 minute walk from most places you’d want to visit such as the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum as well as the Stockholm Central rail station. I had a double room on the 5th floor. The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was on the small side and being over 6ft I found it quite a struggle to fit in there. However, this is no different to many hotel bathrooms in other cities such as New York and London so shouldn’t put anyone off. The room did have a mini bar and there was no price list so don’t get caught out thinking it’s complimentary as it’s not. Go out of the hotel and turn left, walk about 100 metres or so and you’ll come across a 7/11 store - much cheaper than the hotel minibar if you need something (recommended to me by the helpful hotel reception staff). The location is quite noisy but this isn’t the hotel’s fault - the location is surrounded by bars and nightlife so there’s a lot of street noise - even on the top floor. Also worth noting is that the rooms are very closely packed together so you tend to hear conversations from people staying 3 or 4 rooms away. I had a group of guests sitting in the hallway when I returned to my room having a conversation rather than in their room which was slightly off putting. I’m not sure if it is hotel policy but dogs are allowed in the hotel so if you’re nervous of dogs be mindful as I had one barking and the owner shouting at it for a good 30 minutes on my second night here. Also given the wet and cold weather the floor seemed to smell of wet dog. The offending dog was a Doberman Pincher - a large breed of dog which I came face to face trying to edit the elevator In reception. I love dogs so it’s not off putting but if I had my 4 year old daughter with me I’d have chosen another hotel. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice of both hot and cold offerings. I’d recommend getting down to breakfast for when it opens as I had a slightly later start on my last day and it was very busy. Hotel reception staff are very helpful and friendly so couldn’t fault their service.

A historic hotel near the centre of the shopping district. As it's an old building, the rooms were small - I had a single room. It was all very clean, and check in was friendly. Pros: - very extensive breakfast selection in the bar, lit by candlelight - good location for posh shops - clean and safe Cons: - the noise from the bars on the street and below the hotel - small rooms - basic facilities in room - e.g. no kettle or tea/coffee
