Best hotel in Sweden hands down. Have stayed at the hotel + had dinner and drinks dozens of times over the years. Special kudos to Emil for great drinks at the bar. The current drinks menu is a piece of art - and premium crystal ice to go with it:) Highly recommended.
From the moment I walked into the Grand, I was sure I would have a great time here and I certainly did and I already miss it. Very friendly staff at reception when checking in, got a quiet comfortable room at the end of the corridor as I requested and it was ready when I arrived which was a couple of hours earlier than usual check-in time. I was exhausted from a very early flight from Heathrow, so this was a relief. I used the pool, steam room and sauna right away, which was amazing as saunas and steam rooms in most UK spas aren't even re-open yet. Pure bliss in the spa, was clean, very well maintained and so relaxing, gym very good too. It was less busy in the morning. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the main city centre shopping areas and Old Town, lovely views over the river, I made the most of the warm sunny weather on one of the days I was there as it was rather wet when I arrived and rained the day I left. The covid19 restrictions are a lot more relaxed in Sweden and it's easy to see how well everybody has been coping with it. There is a lot more freedom here, it was so nice to see people walking around without face masks on, hotel staff serving with smiles on their faces and being able to sit at a bar with no 10pm curfew was so good! The hotel is old style classic luxury, I had a beautiful sparkling chandelier above my bed. Housekeeping staff deserve medals in these circumstances, they were brilliant here, turn down service offered and extra toiletries and coffee given when asked and the room were super clean when I arrived. Dental care kits, shaving kits, combs and sewing kits are provided in the room free of extra charge and hair conditioner supplied as well as shampoo. Food and drinks are pricey, but still less expensive than in any hotel of this same five star standard in London which are all twice the price, I think it's very good value here for a luxury hotel in a capital city in Europe. I couldn't possibly stay anywhere else other than here for my next stay in Stockholm.…
Located between the old town and the shopping district, perfect for all kind of sightseeing. Great views over the old town and the royal palace. Nice old hotel, classic style. Nice lobby and very nice bar. Very small but nice spa and gym. Rooms are very nice, nice decor and relatively large. Nice bathrooms. Most staff are friendly and service overall is good, however some staff do not deliver the five star service and there is a lack of management attention. still overall good service. Restaurants are good, but not on Michelin Star Level anymore (they lost the Star some time ago). Overall probably the best hotel in Stockholm. I specially like the location.
This place probably has the most spacious rooms you will find in Stockholm. Nobis in comparison is really bad value for money. You get spacious rooms good service and spa access. The bar and different restaurants inside are also good
Visited some 27 years ago. I was enchanted by the majestic view, rooms and great service. It's a kind of nostalgia I feel about the place. I'm sure it maintains it's aura even now. The entry hall was so beautiful I fell in love right away. Perhaps it was brand new at that time. Room size, amenities, linen were all 7 star.
