Travelers' Choice
The Victory Hotel is a welcoming and exclusive hotel with a personal atmosphere in a perfect location in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s charming Old Town. The fact is that the hotel is a tourist attraction in itself. It contains a unique, private collection of maritime antiques, passionately selected by the collector himself, the hotel's founder Gunnar Bengtsson. There are three restaurants and two bars in the hotel; Djuret (The Whole Beast), Flickan, La Ragazza and The Burgundy and The Comfortable Bar Tweed. The breakfast has a selection of cold cuts and hot items and is served in the downstairs dining room, which also has the remnants of a defence tower from the medival city wall on display. The hotel serves complimentary coffe and tea to all their guests and to unwind you can use the Sauna and Relax area exclusively, and free of charge.

We wanted to stay in Gamla Stan and this hotel was in a great location. Very friendly staff, always welcomed us with a smile and helpful suggestions. Our flight arrived very early in the morning and we were allowed to check in a little early because the room was ready. That helped a lot because we were able to drop off our bags and freshen up in our room before heading out to explore the historic town. Great breakfast and very comfortable beds!

When we booked our accommodation in Stockholm as five women travellers we decided to stay in an apartment in the hotel rather than take five single rooms and on arrival in The Victory hotel we were satisfied that the arrangement would work for our group. But in fact the apparthotel far exceeded our expectations. The service offered by the staff but in particular by Jennifer who was often on duty, was fantastic. For Jennifer nothing was too much trouble, and we really felt looked after. The breakfast which was also available to us at a small extra cost was delicious, copious and set us up for the day. The hotel is situated in the centre of the old town Gamla Stan which is extremely convenient walking distance from many of the sights, and also close to many small shops and a host of restaurants offering all kinds of food for the evenings. Highly recommend.

The hotel is amazing en unique. The rooms are nice, spacious and beautiful decorated. The hotel employees are really friendly. They help you with everything and they make time for small talk. The breakfast was good. The hotel is situated in Gamla Stan, and it is close by the palace and nice restaurants. Everything is in walking distance. I could recommend this hotel to everyone

We stayed in the Captain’s Suite with its own Jacuzzi. Wonderful room. We were given a small bottle of port as a welcome present and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The breakfast room is in the basement where you can see the old walls to the “Lion Gate” and there is a fantastic wine cellar. The only negative point is that it was relatively noisy in the morning with lots of traffic.

We were booked at the Lady Hamilton, but it had to close for covid, and we were moved to the Victory Hotel. It was a terrific experience, we were welcomed by Lisa and Jennifer at the front desk who gave us the full rundown on Gamla Stan and had great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. The rooms were spacious and had good views, and really cool historic sailing ship artifacts, with each room named for a Swedish sea captain. The breakfast buffet was delicious, the staff took great care of us, the location was perfect for walking or getting a cab, highly recommended!
